BWV No BW or Standard Studio at 11 Months out!

Yikes. I called yesterday and today to do a day by day ressie for 12/28-1/03 at BWV and all of the standard and Boardwalk view studios are gone. I called yesterday for my first night and they had the BW and when she put me on hold and came back it was gone. I am waitlisted for Boardwalk view, but they told me that potentially I can be switching rooms every day if the Boardwalk view waitlist only comes available for some of the nights. What do seasoned peeps recommend? Stay on the waitlist? I figured if I have to pay the higher points, I want the BW view, but I do not want to have to be changing rooms LOL. What would you do??

How lucky do you feel? I have made the decision that if the standard view studios that I'm calling for weren't available, from that point on, I was going to book preferred view for the NYE trip. One move would be enough for me.

LOL not very lucky! I have this scenario of moving back and forth each night with my son.

Is there any way I can do a waitlist for entire trip, if that makes sense? Once I have booked all of my nights as Perferred view, then waitlist for BW view and only get moved if the entire ressie is available. Does that make any sense??

I wish there wasn't so many choices as I have an indecisive person who tends to change my mind like I change my underwear!

standard view is hard to get - call tomorrow at 8:00 am central time.

have you ever tried BW view. Personally it nice for one night. but for the whole trip - felt like was on display.

know personally from walking the BW myself that it is unlikely that the people along the BW even know the rooms are there.

but I couldn't change the way I felt.

so be sure to know what you are getting.

if I can't get standard view won't stay at BWV - there is always AKV (value) or OKW.

Sure, you can waitlist for the whole reservation. There is "Debi" I think who went on a NYE Boardwalk view waitlist on the very first day it as available (she called around 1 in the afternoon and they were all gone) for NYE '07 and that one day never came through. So...I think if you really want Boardwalk view, keep trying and take whatever days you can, and wait for the others. Do you have enough points to have a preferred view ressie for the time, while you waitlist for the remaining days that you need of Boardwalk view? I think that would be the best of all.

Thant's the problem with the boardwalk and standard views. I called yesterday at 8:30 and was a little nervous that my coveted SV 1BR was going to be gone! But *whew* there was still one for me .

If you're still interested in rolling the dice for a cancellation for those first two days, you must call before 8:30 am each day for the rest of your days and preferably right when MS opens. Remember ... MS is now open on Saturdays and Sundays. I would then put yourself on the waitlist for the first two days and cross your fingers. Cancellations do happen. Good luck!

Yes I do have enough points and also planned on borrowing from my 2009 if I need to. I originally wanted standard for the low points, but then when she told me they were gone and only had PV or BW view, I figured that B view would be best since they are same amount of points. By the time she put me on hold the BW view was gone so I settled for P.

I think my problem is that I am not calling until lunch hour which is 1PMcst. I start work at 9AM cst. I guess I could try to call at 8 from my cell phone, but I will be driving....

Um ... no. You should call at 9:00 am EASTERN. It sucks to live on the west coast but you need to get up and call at 6:00 AM your time. If the reservation is worth it to you, then you would do it. I just dial and leave my phone on "speaker" until I get through. If you wait until 11:00 am Eastern to call everything may be gone as it was in late-afternoon. It's only a few days.

No, actually I live in Wisconsin but it's still Central Time and I call at 8:00 instead of 9:00.

I'm a big Cubs fan, so I could see where you would be confused .

This is my first time calling for NYE (normally do Pres week or April vacation) and it's sooo frustrating. I start work at 9 am so I've been sitting with my cell phone to my ear every morning this week (thank goodness my boss is somewhat understanding). I don't want to switch rooms during a 5 night stay and I'm very doubtful that waitlist will budge.

Bummer . That is the fastest I have ever heard of a booking type at BWV "selling out". Did you put yourself on the waitlist? You are likely be the VERY FIRST one on the list and cancellations do happen. Good luck {{hugs}}.

I feel your pain. It helps to vent. I couldn't get night 3 for an OKW grand villa. We are already moving once because it is a Saturday night so we booked a studio for us at AKV so that on Sunday morning we could go,check in, and get ready for the rest of the family's arrival. Ok I just called for day 3. I started calling at 0800 cst and busy busy. I was just finally able to get through as I had to stop calling at 0900 because of work Was on hold for 16 mns, and still no BW view studios. I was able to get P view again and waitlist for BW view. Sheesh. I did not think it was going to be this hard. I wish they opened at 0700 est like CRO so that I could get up at 6 to start my calling.

On another note, does anyone know how many standard studio and BW view studios they have at BWV? Just curious.

Wow, this IS crazy, not what you want 15 minutes into the booking time! I have to laugh because I think it was Granny who told me that it's not as bad booking NYE as a Members Cruise. Well, on some level that's true, I was on the phone over 2 hours when I was booking that way back when. But this is much harder in a different way.
