BWV Main Pool

In all the times I have stayed at BWV and practically lived at the pool, the clown being scary never entered my mind! My three kids seem to love it...........................whatever!

Okay, Pennywise is kind of creepy. When we first went to BWV that clown immediately became Pennywise because it looks just like that clown in "IT". We just tease the kids and tell them to "go up there and let Pennywise spit you out". They get a kick out of it. I think it's fine. Wouldn't have been my personal choice if I had designed the slide, but let's separate fantasy from reality. The slide rocks! Just be glad the designer didn't add some blood on the clown's lips with maybe an arm sticking out (though, we could've nicknamed that "Georgie"). Lighten up....

Wasn't Pennywise the clown in "It"?

I believe many of the thematic elements at the BoardWalk are taken from actual, real elements from the Jersey Shore. I wouldn't be surprised to know that that clown is an authentic reproduction.

Just keep perspective: I write from N.S.A. Bahrain -- I would love to go to BWV with my wife and kids and see any clown (scary or funny)!!

One more thing: I believe it is sad for my children in particular and all children in general when childhood icons (such as clowns) are captured by adults and use the themes as a source of terror. It is especially inappropriate when adults introduce their children to these themes in the name of "child development." World is a tough place, and esp. viewing it from the Arabian Gulf. I hunger for the days when I can walk through a theme park (not to escape), but to enjoy the peace, love and joy that right now seems so little evident in the world.

Finally, the "real" world is where those attributes -- that clowns are delightful -- is where love joy peace patience kindness reside. The "unreal" world is that where we face terror, cruelity, hatred, stress, etc.
