We have owned at BWV since the late 90's and have always loved it here, mostly because of the view and the location and because it was what we needed as a family. The service, however, has always been better at some of the other DVC resorts -- most notably BVC.

Today, though, we arrived for a Christmas trip and found a new BWV. Same property that we've always loved, but the CMs are different attitude-wise. We have been greeted by virtually EVERY cast member we've come in contact with. (Welcome Home, or Good afternoon, or Happy Holidays) We did on-line check in, and when we arrived, an extraordinary CM met us in the drive and had ALL of our check-in materials ready along with our room keys -- and GASP -- our room was ready at NOON. We never even had to walk up to the check in counter. Bell-service stopped to explain the new wifi policy to us and to show us how to get on to the system. Mickey and Minnie have been down in the lobby doing pictures with the kids now for THREE hours. The room was spotless (as it always is). Wow.

I thought I'd drop by the DIS to let everyone know, BWV has knocked our socks off today. I will definitely be saying something to the manager before we leave, and I'll write when we get home. It's been a pleasure.

After a not so magical visit in May, we also found a major change at BWV last week. Didn't know whether it was the Christmas spirit or management changes, but suspect management changes. A bellhop met us at the door and took us up to the counter and "introduced" us. The maintenance guy who came to plunge the toilet:scared1: was beyond nice, even though he had to wait for my son to get out of the shower and I told him he could come back later if he had other things to do. We had a wonderful stay!

We noted this in October as well. I emailed Member Satisfaction about our great service after we got home and got a return phone call thanking me for letting them hear some positive feedback. I hope that the magic has not worn off when we are back in a few weeks.

It's encouraging to hear of the upswing in CS @ 'my' home, thanks for posting.

Very nice to hear/read. :wizard:

I gave BWV CM's an A+ on my trip report card earlier this month. We too found them to be outstanding. I was hoping this was the case across all DVC CM's and was also hoping that Claire had something to do with it.

We are heading down next Tuesday night for a New Years trip at OKW, with my daughter and son-in-law flying in from Hollywood, CA to meet us.

We expect to spend most of NYE at Boardwalk. I cannot wait to show them around our new "home" - although we are not staying on points this year, we just closed our Boardwalk contract earlier this month!

When we pull up to the door, it already feels like we are coming home.

:cloud9:

This is so nice to hear.
I stayed at BWV last year in October and it was the worst trip of my 12 years as a DVC member. I went into it last year and don't want to discuss it again but also don't ever want anyone to ever have to deal with the problems I had.
I am arriving on the 30th for our annual New Years Eve trip and was not happy when all that was available near Epcot was BWV but I decided to book it instead of SSR due to the proximity.
I am hoping this trip is so much better than the last, the problems I had made me almost not book here.

Julie, the same thing happened on our Oct. trip for F & W. A CM met us as we entered the lobby, asked us if we had done online check-in, took our name and told us to relax while he retrieved our packet/keys. He was back in minutes with everything and we were off to our room which was ready at 3:00 p.m. It was the beginning of a perfect vacation. :goodvibes

wow!
we were there and october, but didn't get all that special treatment (though we have never encountered rude or indifferent cms at the BWVs, everyone has always been extremelly polite and helpful over our many, many stays there). i'm looking foward to being greeted upon arrival in april; it's just a little bitty thing, but i always loved the warm and fuzzies when it happens :)
certainly sounds like you had a wonderful time!!!!

We had the same in November. It was a nice touch. The things that stands out with the OP is Mickey and Minnie in the lobby. They didn't have that when we were there!! Jealous!

We were there at the end of Sep and for the 40th anniversary and noticed the changes for the better at "home". The CMs at the front desk were wonderful. We arrived around 9 AM and our room was ready. However, it was a little too far down the hall for DWs feet so we asked for a closer room and went on to the day's activities. Within 1 hour we got a text that our second new room was ready. We hadn't even gotten to Epcot yet. The wifi was working in all the public places except for Bellevue Lounge. Mousekeeping was very friendly the entire week. Though we didn't go, BWV had started the nightly movie next to the pool. The boardwalk entertainers were great as always. It hadn't felt like home that much in several trips. We will be at WDW New Year's week on an AP rate trip at POP but will drop by BW to see how things are going and to get a new BW shirt. We are looking forward to our 20th anniv. trip back "home" in April.

Thanks for sharing BWV is our home as well and I can't wait to get back there in October for the F & W festival

The character greetings are going on all week as part of the Christmas celebration. We have been here for Christmas before and have never experienced this either. (Santa is always here for Christmas Eve, but never the characters.)

Very nice. The trip continues to be wonderful. Thanks for all of your wishes!

I had excellent CM service and interaction in June at BCV. When I drove up a CM met me at the car and walked me into the lobby and stood with me waiting for the next available desk clerk. He then walked me up to the desk and introduced me to the desk clerk. Desk clerk was outstanding as was the CM at guest services. Looking forward to more of the same at BWV in March!

That is AWESOME. Always wanted to love BWV - it has such a great location and great views - but always sensed that management did not give the resort the attention/love/standards it deserved. Sounds like a management change was made. This is GREAT news.

I am glad to see such positive posts. I am making my first trip as a DVC member to my BWV home resort in late January. Can't wait.
