Hi all,

We're leaving for a WDW trip soon and are staying one week at SSR and one week at BWV. We've never stayed at the BWV. We have a 1 bedroom, pool type view. I know you're never really sure of availability until you get there, but what area should I hope for? We'll have a stroller and usually drive to the parks. My 3 year old still needs naps sometimes. What would my dream area be for my situation?

I believe since you reserved a preferred view, you need to try to get one overlooking the "village green" just off the lobby next to the elevators. The views are good there and you might be able to get a slight view of the boardwalk. Those rooms also are close to the elevators so you can enter/exit the villas easily. Boardwalk noise is a non-issue if the balcony doors are closed.

Actually, I'd just request close to the elevators and let it go at that. There is only one bank of elevators for the BWV and if you are using a stroller, being close to the elevatrors will be more important than the view.

IIRC, the rooms overlooking the Village Green are mostly studios. The 1 bedrooms on the corner (of the village green and the boardwalk) are considered Boardwalk view.

P.S. Moving this thread to the Planning Board.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I think you're both right that the elevators would probably be the most important thing with the stroller, etc. Thanks!

I also recommend a room overlooking the quiet pool and Community Hall. It's not all that far from the elevators and is a lovely view and very quiet.

We had a room right next to the elevators last trip and we definitely could hear them. Not a big deal but if you want quiet it's better to be away from the elevators a bit. Don't forget that if you are near the elevators, every family on that side of the building has to go past your room. Not all kids are quiet when going down those halls! :)

I guess I like the opposite end of the building. I found being near the elevators was a tad bit noisey early in the AM and late in the PM. Not people noisey but where we stayed we actually could hear the elevators mechanicals....up and down. The trip prior to this we stayed at the end of the hall overlooking the clown pool. To get in and out we used the side doors and stairs....worked out great, we had two light weight strollers plus all the kids gear. But I do understand that being near an elevator can make things easier, we may just have been lucky in the room we were in. The noise never truly bothered the kids or us for that matter, we were in Disney...thats all that mattered. Have a wonderful trip!

You both bring up some good points/thoughts about elevators. I'll need to think about that, too. Thanks for sharing your experiences with me. I really appreciate it.:goodvibes

We've stayed (with 3 kids - one of them being a 3 year old) in a 1 bedroom overlooking MGM and TOT. It was at the very end of the looooooong hall but right at the steps to exit out of the building. We found it much easier to carry the lightweight stroller down the steps and navigate all 3 kids that way instead of walking dooooown the hall to use the elevator. It was also extremely quiet and the view was spectacular. DH and I went by ourselves in Sept and stayed in a studio 2 floors below the 1 bedroom we'd stayed in previously. Although the view was not as good (tree branches in the way) it was still great to have quick, easy access to the steps. When we first checked in our room was overlooking the bus stop and it was loud! We asked for a room change and waited for the room at the end of the hall. Either way you'll have a great time. BWV is a great place to stay!

the ones near the elevator are the main pool views. had them several times.

that say would have liked the quiet pool area - okay a bit further walk. but I learned to hate that silly clown. Seeing that every time I looked out on the balcony got old real fast.
