BWV--how do I get this view?

I really don't want the full preferred boardwalk view but would really prefer the village green. I requested the village green for a view through member services, which is not really a separate request and member services then booked me as a pool/courtyard option.

My question is this: What chances do I have of actually getting the village green instead of the pool? A pool view does not appeal to me at all. I would rather have a boardwalk view than have pool view. Should I change the request to guarantee a boardwalk view or do I actually have a good chance of getting the village green with the pool/courtyard option?

Requests are just that...requests. There are very few village green views compared to the pool views, so if you want to see the boardwalk, or be on the Boardwalk side of the building, I'd advise you to switch to a Boardwalk View room. If you can't get that, you can still request the village green and hope for the best.

I know you said that you don't want a Boardwalk View room, but I'm assuming from your post that you'd prefer that to a pool view. Or to a canal view, which is also a possibility.

Yes, Granny, you are right in that my first choice isn't a boardwalk view room, but I would prefer that to a pool view, so maybe I should switch. It sounds like, from what you are saying, that the village green might be a little hard to come by.

Also keep in mind that what is considered a pool view could have large tree in front of your balcony. The room we had was probably a lovely view 5 years ago but the tree had become so large that it obscured it. We didn't complain, just chalked it up to experience and knowing that I would never pay the points for a view. I prefer my standard view and being able to see the fireworks (for the most part)

Standard
preferred - water view
preferred - boardwalk view
I also believe that village green is included in the preferred -boardwalk view category. So to have any hope of getting village green view, I would think you would need to have the guaranteed boardwalk view on your reservation.

Just want to clarify that a village green room is not classified as a boardwalk view, it is classified as a preferred garden view.
As Granny said, there are not many village green rooms, so although you can request it, I would not get your hopes up.
Boardwalk view rooms are usually very tough to get, so you can also try to switch to a boardwalk view villa but again do not get your hopes up too much. Boardwalk view villas are very coveted rooms at BWV and they usually go very fast.
A preferred view that we enjoy a lot, other than a boardwalk view--that is our absolute favorite, is the quiet pool view. These villas have a very nice view of the quiet pool which is almost always very quiet and serene and you also have a very nice view of the waterway to MGM.

The views are:

Standard
Preferred - pool/garden
Preferred - boardwalk

The village green falls into the garden view.
