Hi,

Tried searching but didn't have any luck. Hope someone can help. I just booked one night prior to our cruise in a grand villa at Boardwalk. Can someone please confirm the GVs proximity to the elevator? I understand the 7 GVs are located above the genral store.

Thanks so much.

all BWV GV's face the lake and are over the store and Big river grill

Thank you. I've read there can be a hike to get to your room at this sprawling resort. Would that be the case with the GVs? I'm with my edlerly Mom so its a concern. Thanks again.

As you exit the elevator you will walk almost straight ahead. There is one hallway with, I think, 8 studios and 1 -1 bedroom on the right side. The GVs are just beyond these rooms on floors 3, 4 and 5. Two of the GVs are 2 story, with the master on the main floor and 2 other bedrooms on the upper floor. If your elderly mom will need to be in one of the non-master bedrooms then you should probably ask for a one floor GV. Maybe MS would consider this a priority if you called it "medical reasons." You might also mention "NOT 5th floor" if you don't want a 2 story because both of the 2 stories are on 5th. I BEGGED for a one floor GV during our October trip because there were 3 kids age 3 and under, including 2 just walking, and I was afraid of the stairs. I called MS multiple times to make sure this request was on the reservation. We still ended up with one of the 2 story GVs. I suppose that because there are only 7 GVs there are often days when only one unit has someone checking out and it is total luck which type of GV is available.

It will be along hike from the elevator to the GV. And hopefully you won't be over Jellyrolls which would be the furthest hike.

In the map below the elevators are located near #10 and the GVs are located in the hall section near #12, #13 and #14. There are NO GVs near Jellyrolls (#16) nor in the section of hallway near #15.

The only room "over Jellyrolls" is The Attic (a room used for private parties).

The farthest GV would be under the "Boardwalk" sign, which is about half way down.

Thanks everyone! Really appreciate it. The hike doesn't sound too bad. We stayed in a studio once and we were all the way at the end of a very long corridor. This sounds alot better.

it really isn't a long walk, imho. we normally wind up in one of the studios right past the GVs (x029 or x031). despite hernited discs, broken toes, knees that were or needed replacement, etc (various combinations of people over the years since BWVs opened), none of those ailing felt that those rooms were very far from the elevators.
hth :)
