Tried a search, but not having success. How many elevators and where are they located in the villas? I'm used to the smaller BCV with one elevator area. Is BWV the same situation or is there more than one location?
My 7mo window won't be until March, but I want to have my requests decided on before I call. Thank you for any info.

For the Villas

The elevators are right off the lobby past the small gift shop. I believe there is only 1 bank of elevators. It can be a fairly good walk to your room. Personally I don't mind the walk...except late night when the kids were younger and they were dead asleep....

BCV has two elevator areas, one off the Villa lobby and another down the hall opposite the exterior door at the far end of the pool area.

This question comes up often enough, so I added the word "elevators" to the view map to indicate where the only bank of elevators at BWV are located.

Bill; I remembered the pool elevators a couple hours after I'd posted last night. I guess that was a lesson learned after only putting one set of elevators at BWV:confused3

Granny; Thanks for adding that detail. That picture is very helpful! :thumbsup2 So can I assume there's a few sets of stairs around?

Yes, several sets of stairs that take you out into the pool areas, walkway to DHS, the Boardwalk or front drive area. We tend to use the stairs more than the elevators when we stay at BWV.

DVC admitted at an annual meeting I attended that it was a mistake to only have 1 set of elevators, although they will not take any steps to correct it.

I've used the stairs on both ends of the building. Keep in mind they are fire escapes, people have complained that they look "industrial". Fire escapes are not decorated or carpeted.....;)

Us, too. If your party can do stairs, know that there are many scattered throughout the resort. We use them as "shortcuts" to the pool, the DHS walkway, the bus stop, etc.

In fact, I have found that the closer you are to the elevators, the more noise you hear from the hallways. :teeth:

We prefer the rooms farther away, even though they are farther from the elevators and lobby.

Well isn't it the truth, it was ridiculous to build a building that large with only one set of elevators. You have to wonder who makes these decisions.

Kind of like putting the bathroom sink in the kitchen. ;)

us three....;)
we very rarely use the elevators, but use the stairs multiple times a day (which is why i dropped our upper floor request from reservations - the view is better the higher you are, but the convenience of the multiple stairwells trumps view for us now).
pretty much, we use the elevators only when laden with groceries, or carrying laundry (if in a studio).

Same here. We found that the stairs are actually very conveniently located for the "shortcuts". Those with strollers are kinda out of luck. We were at the very back corner of the Standard View wing, second floor. When we got to our room, I had every intention of asking to be moved. But when the bell hop brought our luggage up, he showed us on the map the "shortcut doors"... by the end, we preferred to be in the back corner. Made walking to MGM a snap, close to the pools, bus stop and Rec Hall. We plan on requesting the same area next time.
