Thank you, BWV owners/lovers for your enthusiastic advice on these boards. I'm hoping you can help with a logistical question.

On Day 3 of our trip, we plan to visit MK in the morning, then head back to BWV for a rest/swim break (kids are DS9, DD7, DS5, and DD3). I had originally planned to have us do a character dinner at Chef Mickey's at 6 or 7, then head over to Wishes. We stayed at the CR when oldest DS was a baby, and it seems like it was a pretty quick walk to MK from CR.

But now I've found out about the character dining at the Garden Grill at Epcot. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is how easy is it really to get from BWV to CR. Have you gone from Garden Grill (or somewhere else in Epcot) to MK for Wishes?

Sorry...this is a lot of info. Please try to sort through it and share your thoughts!

I think the easiest way would be to take the bus from BWV to MK, then walk over to CR. You could also take the BWV bus to any park and go to CR from that park but that would involve two buses and probably take a little longer.

This is really easy. Just hop on the monorail at the EPCOT entrance and transfer to the MK monorail at the TTC. Should be no problem.

You could take the monorail from Epcot to TTC. Then transfer to the express line that takes you right to MK.
If you decide on Chef Mickeys, just hop on the MK bus at BW and then walk over to the CR.
I've done both meals..we prefer Chef Mickeys. It's just so darn much fun. Garden Grill is a bit more subdued..fun, but not the same atmosphere as CM's.

We've had similar plans many times - and have never been able to pull it off - not with kids. If we are in the MK area, we stay in the MK for the day - if we head back to BW - we don't make it back to the MK (we can make it to MGM or Epcot easily - and usually do). We plan on it taking an hour to get to the MK from the BW (its less if you take a cab) - and if you want to get from BW to Garden Grill to eat, its probably a 15-20 minute walk.

You may manage to do it, we have a slowpoke in the family that makes this sort of thing particularly hard to pull off.

If you're looking for a great Character meal try the Swan!
It's a 2 min. walk from BW and then just take the bus to the MK.
It's our favorite character meal bacause it's never crowded, the food
is yummy, and it's close to BW and BC!

have the bellman call a cab;) and eat @ Chef Mickeys if you have your heart set on it:thumbsup2

a good splurge imo...can always take the bus back from MK after Wishes.

I'm with you! The last year or two I have finally decided that when it comes to dinner at another resort, a cab is well worth it. We have never spent more than 20 bucks tip included to get anywhere on site, and not having to worry about the buses and timing was well worth it for a special dinner. Then again, I get a little obsessive about timing, so the family says it is worth the 20 bucks to have me stop worrying about it...

I think the cab idea is the way to go, too. I'm pretty sure the kids will want to ride the monorail, so after dinner at Chef Mickey's they can just ride it around and around the lagoon until it's time to go into the MK for Wishes.

Thanks for your advice....

papabear4 we do this all the time when we are "On the Clock". Take cabs to Ohana's, Chef Mickey's, GF or Boma. Less wear and tear and makes everyone (kids and wife) happy. Most cabs have car seats as well.
