I have an early May trip planned to BWV in a GV and have two questions:

1) How long is the construction and maintainance work scheduled to continue and where is it being focused?

2) GV occupancy is 12 people, but do they allow a 13th under age 3 like they do in other villas?

Thanks in advance!

Regarding the piping work, it's moving around the resort all the time. Probably impossible to predict at this point whether they will be anywhere near your room in May.

For what it's worth, there were clear signs of work being done in the hallway right outside of our room in May--there were temporary access panels cut in the ceiling drywall and the carpet had been tightly wrapped in plastic. However, we never heard a peep from them the entire time.

EDIT: I can't imagine anyone would balk at adding an >3 yo to a Grand Villa. Just make sure that you have enough bedding for everyone. If memory serves, the GV has 1 King bed, 4 Queens and a pull-out sofabed. To sleep 12, you'll have to have two on every bed (including the sofa), or you will have to bring your own bedding.

Enjoy!

The vacation Magic said the piping work would continue through the summer of 2005.

AFAIK, there haven't been any estimates of when the croquet lawn would be finished (where the temporary stand alone DVC sales building used to be). This would not affect any GVs though as all of those overlook the Boardwalk.

Also AFAIK, there isn't any estimate of when the remodeling of the DVC Sales space to villas will be done. This area could be directly below one or more of the GVs - there is a construction barrier/wall in front of it on the Boardwalk.

I agree with tjkraz - no way to know where/how much work will be going on near you. My advice is to give the resort a call a few weeks before you arrive and ask someone there.

Best wishes -

The grand villas are more in the center of the Boardwalk, none are above the former sales center.
