For those of you with kids, when you check in early at the BWV on a Sunday, which park do you go to first? I'm having a tough time figuring our schedule for some reasons. Maybe it's been too long between park visits for me!

We arrived about 1pm on a Saturday and elected to go to Epcot. Easy to find something to eat (we were starving) and convienient to visit. Too tired to "cope" with the MK after traveling.

We had lunch in Germany and saw a lot of Future World before falling into bed early.

Whenever we stay at BW, we go to Epcot first and have dinner at Garden Grill... great character interaction, but still a little low key after a day of travel. Or you could just wander around WS for the F&W festival. Your kids could make masks at the Kidcot stations while you enjoy all the wonderful treats.

Have a great trip!!!

I like going against the crowds...

MK is very busy on the weekends (try a Tuesday or Wednesday instead).

If you are doing AK during you vacation... Sundays are not as crowded. Epcot would be next best bet (and really a great choice of restaurants).

Just my $0.02s :)

Since you have the kids with you - you probably cant get away with not hitting the parks your first day. We usually kick back and relax, hang out at the resort and have a nice dinner the first day. We travel from New York, and even though the flights are not that long - it's just nice to come in - check in, hit the pool or whatever and then have a nice dinner.

That being said - I would think Epcot would be busy on the weekends due to the Food & Wine Festival. But being at BWV, it would be hard for me to resist going on day 1 (just so I could scout everything out for my second trip over).

A good suggestion is probably Animal Kingdom. Big crowds at Epcot and MK on the weekends - so AK might be the only park without something extra going on to drag in the crowds and the locals on the weekends.

Have a great trip!!!!!

We always hit Epcot first.

#1 - the park is so huge it takes several days to see.
#2 - the best variety of food within the smallest space.
#3 - Illuminations every night so there is definitely a big show to kick off your vacation.
#4 - it's a park where you can kick back and relax if you want to. And slowly soak in the atmosphere and get ready for the amazing experiences to come.

Is there corn coming out of my ears? Can you tell I am suffering major Disney withdrawal right now?

Just remember if you go to AK it closes earlier than the other parks. You didn't mention your time of arrival.

Thanks everyone! We are actually staying one night at Coronado Springs before we switch to the BWV. Saturday is our relaxation day. I'm trying to figure out the best strategy for checking into the BWV and going to a park on Sunday. I really want to get a nice room and I'm afraid if I wait to checkin we'll get a bad room. I really do want to go to a park also on Sunday. Any more advice is really appreciated.

I usually arrive on Sunday and we do MGM. Sunday is not only a weekend day, which seems to especially affect the crowds at the MK, it's also early entry at the MK, so even though it's my favorite park I wait until Monday to visit. By the time I'd get to MK on arrival day (about 1 PM) it would be packed.

Here's my MGM rationale--Since Saturday is early entry at MGM, lots of those staying on site go there to get the extra hour in the morning. Sunday at MGM IMHO, is less crowded since it's the day AFTER an early entry day.

I use this strategy for all the parks, I almost always go to the park that had early entry the day BEFORE. It seems to work very well for me. If I am feeling ambitious and I am up early enough to take advantage of early entry, I go at park opening and leave when the crowds become unbearable as the day guests (without early entry privileges) arrive. But the large majority of the time I go to the park that had early entry the previous day. I read about this strategy originally in the Unofficial Guide to WDW, and I find it works out great.

Plus of course MGM is in walking distance or short boat ride from BWV where you'll be staying.
::yes:: :teeth: :wave:

Hi tffn!
We are arriving Sunday too. We're driving down. We also have a 7yo dd. We're not staying onsite this trip. Feb we will though. Sunday we are going to Epcot, to try and get the feel for it with F&W. Also have ressies at rose and crown to watch Illuminations. First time for that and MNSSHP! I am so excited:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: ! I think I saw on another post that you will be at LTT the same time we will be for MNSSHP. Our ressies are at 5:30. Be sure to stop and say hi. I'll have a big lime green Mickey head on the backpack!

When you check out of CS, have them transfer your baggage to BWV. Then take a bus to one of the parks, grab a bus to BWV. Check in and you might get lucky and get a room right away. But, if not, then you're all checked in and you can call later to get your room number. Then go off to whatever park you want.

This is what we did last summer and it worked pretty well. We checked out of CR, they got our stuff to BWV, we went to BWV, checked in, went to Epcot for a few hours, then back to BWV to get our room. Worked really well.

Thanks everyone! I've finally decided we'll go to MGM after we checkin at the BWV. We all really like MGM and it's a good park to for a first day. I'll report back on how it all went.

Jill I'll look for your backpack. I'm really looking forward to MNSSHP and LTT!

Even though I was at BWV just over 4 weeks ago and it will be 92 days till my next trip I envy you being there in two days! Talk about addictions!

I hope you have time to post a trip report when you get back, and that you have a wonderful time at the Happiest Place on Earth!

I like these questions that provoke me to fantasize a little.

We usually hang out at the pool our first day. Get settled in. Eat a relaxing supper.

If we went to a park it would likely be Epcot so we wouldn't have to drive. Probably for a meal.

Thanks everyone! It's fun to "talk" strategy with other obsessed fans. Ooh. Look at my timer! I'm actually more excited than my 8 year old son. "Poor" kid has a Disney addict as a Mom!:rotfl:
