We're trying to decide between Garden/pool view and Boardwalk View at BWV. We're wondering if the Boardwalk View rooms are noisy. I know they can be right above the restaurants and shops. Any experience with this? Thanks!

We always book BW view. At night we close the balcony door and pull the drapes tight. Once when we were on second floor we still heard loud drunks when Jellyrolls closed but security shooed them away. In the morning at about 8:00 the Friendship Boat horns can be heard if the drapes are open. Some people dislike the noise from the games on the BW but the games stop before it gets too late. None of this had ever dissuaded us from booking BW view because it has never been a problem for us. Bottom-line: If you are noise sensitive BW view may not be worth the risk. Besides I do not need more booking competition! ;)

We did one night in a 2 bedroom BWV last year prior to our cruise. It was a perfect BWV location and right in front of the basketball game.
I figured if we were staying at the BW, we may as well get a BW View.
But, yes, I thought it was very noisey. Not from the stores, but the people walking around, bells ringing and those Friendship Boats start honking their horns very early in the morning.

Also, when the bars got out (there are 2 of them), I think around 2 am, there were many noisey people coming out of them walking on the BW.

Granted, we did have our doors open but we did have to get up in the middle of the night to shut them and then it wasn't too bad but I can tell you I was very surprised how noisey it was since I've never experienced that at another DVC or our own T/S in Orlando or HHI.

Have fun whatever you decide.

I think its a little noisy - to me its noticeable, but seldom disturbing, but I think if you are looking for a quiet resort, you shouldn't book BWV in ANY view. VWL is my choice for quiet.

We've stayed in the Boardwalk view twice and I'd also say that it can be noisy. Both times we were on the 2nd floor (lobby level) and I would be woken up in the early morning by people leaving Jelly Rolls/Atlantic Dance Hall and then again early am by workers rolling carts along the boardwalk.

I've stayed boardwalk view several times and the only time I had a noise issue was when I stayed on the 2nd floor above Big River. It was June and alot of people were out late on the boardwalk, talking and carrying on. Most of the time we are on 3 or 4 and it's not bad.

I've found many hotels are noisy. The main thing is not to be near an elevator. I had a room in a Hilton Garden right by the elevator recently and it was horrible, people coming in late and talking, slamming doors.

Do you own at BWV? if not it could be hard getting BWview.

It has a great view and really nice feel, but it is noisy. We own there and if you are a light sleeper you can here people until all hours. We will NOT do it again for an extended stay, one or two nights maybe.

We don't own at BWV but we go in late January and it is available.

FYI--I just called MS right at 9am (their time) this morning to switch my BLT studio to a BW view at BWV and they had no rooms left for 1/22-1/25, however I was looking for 2 BW View studios so that may have something to do with it. We ended up getting 2 studios over at BCV (our favorite resort so we weren't upset at all). My point is, if you want to reserve that room, and it is still available, then I would call MS ASAP. Good luck.
