We have a nice van available when staying at WDW, sometimes a couple of vehicles. But we prefer to use the Disney Transportation. I like leaving the car and not having to fool with it, even though it's parked pretty close in the BCV lot. Other times there's more of us than fit in one vehicle. Bus noise is probably more of a problem at OKW than other DVC resorts. It's another reason we don't like to stay there.

Cutting down the number of busses? Of course that's simply silly.

Believe it or not, I actually enjoy driving around WDW. I love getting in the car, cranking up the AC and the radio and going directly where we need to go. I guess because I am used to city rush hour traffic, driving around palm tree lined streets seems like a treat for me (I often say "this is the life....!"). Even if the busses were efficient, I probably would still drive. Maybe it's because I rode city busses everyday when I first started working, I'm still not over it!

What's parking like for the parks? We drive to the store etc, but take boats and busses inside WDW. That way if we take a boat ride to a resort to eat, monorail to Epcot for a show, we're not required to go back after the car. I always liked how the busses at least went straight to the MK instead of having to take a car then monorail too. Each his own, nice to have choices.

I don't think the parking is bad. They direct you where to park and the tram is waiting at the beginning of the row. MK isn't that bad, I timed it once from our OKW front door to the entrance to MK (using the express monorail), 22 minutes. Considering how long it can take for the bus to make it around to all the OKW stops, plus the wait time if you just miss the bus, I don't think it's bad. Of course, when we stay at BWV we don't drive to Epcot or MGM, we walk or use the boats.

I agree with you, to each his own.

On our first trip to OKW, we were awakened by a weed whacker or blower or some small gas engine reving around outside on the golf course every morning around 6:30.

I think the other noise referred to is the busses. Although the flushing toilets in the other "hotel" type resorts is more bothering to me, the busses stop at some point, people flushing above your head(and showering) goes on all hours of the night.

LOL! I have experienced the same thing at OKW. I am surprised because it seems like they cut the golf course grass every morning. How do they get their grass to grow that fast? Must be pixie dust! LOL!

Yep, your not the first folks to mention this or the bus noises. I guess the trick is not to be on the bus route, just like other undesirable rooms at other DVC resorts.

If I wanted to drive everywhere, why stay onsite? A timeshare off site could do. Direct transportation is one of the onsite advantages.

Well thats just great. Now I have to request a non smoking top, floor, building 30 or higher, that isn't on the bus route or golf course. Where is that, Ft Wilderness?

Every resort has their noises if you listen and keep track of them. A blast from the boat horn at BWV can knock you out of bed, too.

The ringing bell of the BW games, the WHOOSH of toilets above you, the road/bridge noise at BCV facing EPCOT. You just can't put a few thousand people in the same space and expect them to be quiet all the time.

I think there's a loud bell and beeping especially with the dumpster view at Wilderness lodge. One of the advantatges of Monrail is it is quiet. I wonder if light rail is also quiet. Perhaps an alternative to louder buses is needed. But transportation sohould be improved with more busses, not less.
