Hi

I was just wondering how large the BWV balconies are.
Can two people sit comfortably out there.

Thanks!!!

We've mostly stayed in studios at BWV, and we almost always have sat out on our balcony at some time during the trip. It's fine. We've had one studio, by the steps, boardwalk entrance to BWV that was huge, but the 2 of us have not had a problem sitting and having coffee or eating breakfast on any of them.

Bobbi :)

They differ by location and floor. Lower floors seem larger, but that's just my experience, others may differ. Had the 1 bdrm right over the Screen Door store one year and it was enormous. At other times, there was just enough space for table and 2 chairs. Always have gotten enough room for 2 of us.

While 2 people can sit on BWV balconies of any size, you will notice a marked difference if you are used to OKW balconies. Sort of like a travel trailer bathroom versus a spa (how am I doing Richyams??)

Good job! Actually one of OKW's pluses is the huge patio that holds a big dining table and 4 chairs. But I gotta admit, one of BWV's pluses is that unbelievable BW view.
I've been in rooms on 3 different floors at BWV and the balconies always seemed to me to be roughly the same size-big enough for 2 chairs and a small table about 20"X20". I thought I read here about some balconies bieng standing room only, I think, but that hasn't been my experience.

I was really worried about getting one of those "standing rooom only" balconies like the ones I've seen at the Beach Club.

Glad to see it looks like the Boardwalk doesn't have those.

Thanks all!

I found the BWV balcony on our 4th floor studio unit to be small. Two can fit, but not real comfortably. It was adequate.

IF you're lucky enough to be able to secure a BW view room. Percentage-wise, there are not that many of them from what I've read. Our view at BWV was the valet parking lot. I've consistantly had better views at OKW. Not doubting BWV has nice views, I just don't think there are that many "BW" views. Lucky for those who can get one though. The main pool views looked nice.

When we stayed at BW we always had little balconies. Enough room for 2 people. Our friends one year stayed right next to use and we both had studios. They had a balcony that was twice the size of ours. We both faced the main pool on the 4 or 5 floor. Last year we stayed at OKW and had a very large balcony. Do any of the balconies at OKW get sun? I know they are completely covered but wondered if any got some sun filtered in. We stay in building 13 and loved the area but missed the sun we would have over at BW.
Staying at OKW in March and because we are from Michigan we follow that sun as much as possible

We got sun on our balcony in bldg 43 and 62 most recently........don't believe we got much sun on the balcony in bldg 45 this past summer though.
I guess it has it's positives and negatives, as does any resort. Because when we stayed at BWV we couldn't sit out on the balcony during rain showers/downpours which were frequent that summer. We feel we got more coverage from the rain on all our OKW balconies & could sit out during rainy times, but maybe those that face the canal that leads to DD don't get much sun ? I specifically recall sitting out in Nov on our balcony in #62 and sunning. I was so happy to be warm after leaving 40 degree temps in Philly that year.
Did want to add......I do know some BWV balconies are covered and some are not. We had a uncovered one (#4131). We would have preferred a covered one. Not sure what the percentage of the covered vs non are.

I love sitting out on the balcony and have always found the ones at BWV to have enough room for both of us. No they aren't as large as OKW but they are fine. My favorites are when we have boardwalk view but we've had some great standard views as well.

2nd floor above the screen door is huge, about 8 ft by 35 ft for our 2br at BW. :thumbsup2

We've also had that second floor above the Screen Door (as a 2br) and it is big, but it has solid walls so you can't sit and enjoy the view unless you're very tall. The kids kept trying to climb on the chairs just so they could see.

Last week we had a standard view on the 4th floor (4119)....the balcony was accessible from both the bedroom and living room and the depth was about your average hotel balcony size...you could sit on the chairs and use the small table for coffee or whatever, but you had to be careful not to put the chair in front of the door in case someone else wanted to come out. I probably wouldn't have wanted to eat a meal out there.

That was ours also, we really liked it (although we have teens now) because you could just walk out wearing whatever. I do like a little "higher" view though. The ones taken below here pretty good size also on the 4th floor. We also are not the type to eat a meal on a deck-even at home.
