BWV 2 BR "bed" question

Just called and made a reservation for a 2BR villa at BWV for 3 days at the beginning of June after a DCL cruise. Never thought I would get a guaranteed BW view -- only planned to get put on a waiting list for this view and didn't think we would ever get it, but we did!!! Hooray! We have never stayed in a 2 BR at BWV and I just looked in my member manual to see how it is laid out. The plan shows that the 2nd BR (not master BR) has a sofa bed and a regular bed. Are all the 2 BR's set up this way? We would rather not have a sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom and I am wondering if I can call and request 2 real beds in that BR. Does anyone know the answer to my question? The plan actually looks like a lock-off since there is a door into the 2nd bedroom. Thanks for any help you can give me. We are still delighted with the BW view even if we have to take the sofa bed.

Everything I have read says the second bed in the the second bedroom is a pullout sofa. Ours was a lock-off, but I think even the dedicateds have the sofa bed. Sorry.

I think you have to go to OKW for that second bed.

I have read on these boards that none of the 2 bedrooms at BWV are dedicated, they are all lock-offs and all have the sleeper sofa in the second BR. That is the main reason I would not buy points there. We have 4 kids and want as many "real" beds as possible. I would love to stay at BWV some time, but we will probably wait for a DH and me alone trip!!! Lacee

And no, you don't have to go to OKW to get 2 beds in the 2nd BR. We requested, and got, 2 queen beds in the 2nd BR for our BCV trip last March. I think you can request this option everywhere except BWV. We will always request it, although there are no guarantees.

BWV is the only DVC resort with no dedicated 2BR villas. All are lock-off 2BR's and will have the queen and sleep sofa in the 2nd BR.

OKW, VWL, BCV and SSR (also VB and HH) all have dedicated 2BR's with 2 queen beds in the 2nd BR. BCV also has some dedicated 2BR's with the queen/sofa combo. OKW has only 2 queen beds in all studios and has none with queen/sleep sofa.

This is what I thought until last Friday. I was on the phone with MS reserving a BW view 2BR for next Columbus Day weekend, and the CM asks, if you want it, we have a dedicated 2BR available for your dates. Well, I took it, but responded that I thought all the 2BRs at BWV were lockoffs. Apparently, not anymore. There are now dedicated 2BRs at BWV, and we have one of them for 10/05. I seem to recall the CM telling me that the advantage was two queens in the second BR, but am not sure anymore.

Perhaps the dedicated 2BRs are in the section that used to house the sales and ops center, is any of that was BW view? Anyone have any theories on this?

That would be the only likely explanation. Depending on how they are configuring the rooms, the old lobby area and exit area did face the BW, so if those are now part of a dedicated 2BR, BWV may now have a few.

Enjoy the room! :)

Thanks for the info. That has to be the explanation because never before has this been offered to us either. It is good to know that the best resort at WDW now has another option available for us.;)
