BWV 1BR Master bedroom question

We are booked in a 1-bedroom standard view at BWV this July. My boys really love sleeping in their "Cars" sleeping bags in hotels. What we usually do is put a blanket from the bed onto the floor, then their sleeping bags and we bring their own pillows from home.

Do you think there would be enough room in the master bedroom in the 1-bedroom villa for my boys to sleep in their sleeping bags in there? They are little, my older one is 5 and my little one will turn 3 on May 1st. I think they would be fine on the pull-out couch, but would feel more comfortable if they were in the bedroom with us...and if they really want to sleep in their sleeping bags, then it would make sense to me just to have them in the bedroom. DH and I can always hang out in the livingroom after the boys go to bed if we want some time alone, no problem.

I think there's enough room, but we've never tried it. We have put one of the grandkids in a p-n-p in the master br closet. That's another option for you.

The kids would probably have to sleep one on each side of the bed, or at the foot of the bed, making it tricky for ya'll to get in and out of bed. However the living room is very spacious. Just move the coffee table to the side, and there's plenty of room between the sleeper sofa and TV cabinet for them to strech out in.

There is one other thing concerning me now about it though...there was a horrible accident last Friday in Long Island, NY...a toddler who would have turned 3 next week got choked by a metal venetian blinds cord when he was playing with his 4-year-old brother, and he passed away the next day. Their father was at home when it happened but their mother was not home. She's a teacher at my nieces' school and at the time it happened, she had to have been at work or maybe just leaving to go home. This story made me worry even more than I already do about my children's safety. You just never know, in the blink of an eye, what can happen. My heart goes out for that entire family...this is a parent's worth nightmare and I can't seem to get it out of my head.

So, I am also concerned whether there are venetian blinds or regular drapes for the balcony doors in the villas.

Check out the CPSC.gov. Back in 2000 there was a recall of 85 million venetian blinds for strangulation hazards. Currently there is a recall of 50 million roman shades for strangulation hazards.

Best thing you can do is check on their website for recalls. You will be shocked how many there are that you don't hear about.

I'm so glad to hear this! I figured it would be drapes, like any other hotel room but I wasn't 100% sure. This makes me feel a whole lot better.

I might add that I have not tried having children on the floor of the bedroom, but, since your boys are so small, I think they would both fit on the side of the bed near the balcony door. You could move the chair out of the corner there and put it somewhere else. Whichever adult is sleeping on that side of the bed will need to be careful if s/he gets up during the night, but small price to pay for having the peace of mind to know that the kids are safe. We have multiple LED nightlights in our Owner's Lockers that we always use. They provide just enough light for safety during the night.

We were able to put a twin blow up matress between the bed and the slider for our grandson. You will have enough room to all sleep together and not worry. I am a worrier too. Have fun!
