BWV - 1 BR - won't confirm dedicated or lock-off

We have a reservation for a 1 bedroom standard view at BWV. I just called to check on ability to get a dedicated.

MS told me that guarantee is only available when you book 2 BRs. Is this correct?

I guess since I was able to book my 2BR at OKW and MS told me it was a dedicated, and that dedicated are confirmed, I assumed it would be the same with 1 BRs.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

BWV does not have any dedicated units, they're all lock offs. Sorry

How many dedicated 1 bedrooms are there at BWV? At OKW, there are only 2 bedroom dedicated villas (no dedicated studios or 1 bedrooms). All others (except for GVs) are lock offs. I would imagine they don't want to limit you to the dedicated 1 bedroom, because it might be a difficult request to fill. At OKW, the 2 bedroom dedicated units are a reserved unit.

BWV does have standard view dedicated 1-BR units. We've stayed in two different ones, one on the ground floor and one on the fourth floor. They're only requests though and can't be guaranteed.

While the 2brs are all lock-offs, there are dedicated 1br and studios.

The information I have is 97 ded studios, 130 ded 1br, no ded 2br, 149 lockoffs, 7 GVs = 532 rooms

And for the OP - I have never had 1 br or studios indicate lock-off or dedicated on the confirmation. I can't see any reason why MS wouldn't tell you if they could see it.

Well, that's news to me, I've always been told that there are no dedicated units and now to see that there are over 200 dedicated studio and 1BR's is the first I've heard of that.

I've stayed in 1 bedrooms at BWV 6 times and all 6 times were dedicated units. There are no dedicated 2 bedrooms.

It's been awhile but I did request dedicated one time at 11 months and the cm said I already had it, no need to request it. But it didn't show on the confirmation. They told me that they book the dedicated 1 bedrooms first and when they are gone start splitting off the lockoffs. This makes sense since 5 of my 6 one bedroom stays were booked at 11 months and one at 7 months and I got a dedicated everytime.

I know there are dedicated studios at Boardwalk because they are the ones with the daybed.

Never had a dedicated one bedroom before. Just a lock-off.

DebbieB, I used your information in the occupancy thread and Dean responded that it was true in the past but is not anymore. How long ago were your stays? I had been thinking this would be another reason for home resort advantage, similar to BCV 2bdrm w/2 queens, but it looks like it might not be.

This was PREVIOUSLY a reservation type but this changed about 2 years ago. Now it's a request and no way to guarantee thus no way to circumvent and occupancy restrictions.

I stayed there in early December each year from 2000 to 2004. The 7 month booking was for April 2004. The time I talked to the cm about it was probably around 2001.

It only makes sense that they have to keep track of the dedicateds and lockoffs. They have to know how many lockoffs are available to book as 2 bedrooms and how many dedicated 1 bedrooms & studios are booked that cannot be combined for a 2 bedroom.
