BWV 1 bedroom sleeper sofa comfort and where does a 5th person sleep?

We have booked a 1 bedroom at BWV for our first stay since becoming DVC members. Can anyone comment on the comfort of the sleeper sofa, specifically for adults?

Also, we are currently only planning on four of us going, but there is a chance we might add a fifth person (also an adult). I know that they will not provide bedding, linens or towels for the fifth person, but where do they sleep? Is it a fold-out chair, some sort of a fold-down bed, etc?

I'm seeing mixed info on the 5th bed configuration.

Thanks!

The BWV 1BR is a BYO Bed for the 5th sleeper. Disney does not provide a bed. Some people bring an air mattress or sleeping bag. Some sleep 3 to the king bed.

But there are two sleep surfaces in a BWV 1BR: The king bed, and the sofa sleeper. No chair. No fold down. The coffee table doesn't work like that.

The sleeper sofa is standard DVC sleeper sofa. Some are ok. Most are awful.

Saw a tip that someone noted, a cheap idea might be a pool float if its a little kid. Packs small and can toss it at end of trip.

I have been eyeing up those foldable twin memory foam mattresses. They are too big for flying and take up a good deal of room in the car if you are driving (around 3 feet x 2 feet x 1.5 feet). I never liked dealing with air mattresses as they generally squeak and loose air in the middle of the night.

This would likely be a better option however, we are hoping to keep ours in the owner's locker and the memory foam wouldn't fit... There is a coil air mattress on Amazon that I think we'll try... we just need a twin so I think it'll be fine for one person....

Let us know how it does. My kids hate sleeping together so if we do a 1BR my plan was to bring something. After typing out the size of that foldable, I am starting to think it may be too much of a hassle to travel with. We are still in ROFR so I haven't explored the owners locker stuff yet but it is a consideration as well for storage.

I will. Yea, I saw someone on YouTube show what was in their owner's locker and they had an inflatable mattress and linens in it. I thought it was a great idea. We're also going to put full size bottles of sunscreen. I've had way too many taken by TSA - just forgetting about the liquid volume restrictions - and it makes me mad!

Stayed with 6 adults in Feb 2021..thankful we had a new foam mattress pad for the pull out...it was bad...Grandson and his wife slept there...Feb 2022 the pull out at AKL-Kidani was terrible called down and they brought up another Mattress we just put it on top of the other but left the pull out open the whole week...Villas there are large so there was plenty of room...

After six nights on a new Saratoga Murphy bed, the pullout at BWV in November was pretty terrible. Glad we only had one night on it.

I have often wished they could put a fold-down twin under every tv. According to my kids, those are comfortable.

We keep an Aerobed classic twin in our owner's locker (which is full of a ton of other stuff as well), if you get all the air out it folds pretty small. We've had it since 2018 and it's holding up well with teens sleeping on it. So any air matress that's low profile like that will fit well. I use two fitted sheets, one for under because of the noise on the non-carpeted floor.

We stayed in the 1 BWV (standard view) last year. Friend slept on the pull-out. She had to use the extra linens that were in the hall closet and even then, she slept sideways on the bed as she didn't think it was very comfortable at all.

We stayed 3 nights 1 bedroom Bwv last month. Gave daughter and granddaughters the king bed. The sleep sofa was horrible. It’s like sleeping on a tumbling mat in a gym. hoping for the Murphy bed one day.
