Hello all,

I have visited these boards numerous times, but this is my first post. My husband and I are going to be checking into a 1 bedroom villa at BWV this Sunday (only two days to go... WOO-HOO!). After looking at the DVC website, it appears that we have been assigned a wheel-chair accessible villa.

Our main concern is whether or not this villa still has a jetted tub in it or not. We called DVC member services, as well as the Boardwalk, and were told that it does NOT include a jetted tub; but only a wheel-chair accessible shower. However, I think I've read on these boards that AKV Jambo House is the only DVC resort with a 1 bedroom HA unit and no jetted tub.

Can anyone confirm this for me?

AFAIK, all of the BWV 1 bedroom & larger units, including the HA villas, have the jacuzzi tub. In those larger villas, the shower and toilet are in a separate room from the jacuzzi.

Perhaps the person on the phone is thinking about a studio. The non-HA studios have a shower & tub combo - they are not separate like they are in the larger villas. So an HA studio would have only the roll-in shower and no tub. But as I recall, none of the BWV studios have a jetted tub. Those are in the 1 bedroom and larger villas.

I think you will be fine, since you have a 1 bedroom booked.

Welcome out of lurkdom!

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks! That is what I thought as well. Either way, we'll be in WDW having a magical time. I just hope we have a jacuzzi tub to come back to after long days in the parks... I like to call it my magic multiplier!

How did you determine that you have been assigned a HA room? I didn't know that you could figure that out online.
We have often had room 2049 which is the only BW view HA 1 bedroom. It has a roll-in shower AND a jacuzzi. Since the jacuzzi and the shower are in different rooms there is no reason to eliminate the jacuzzi in order to offer HA accommodations. Enjoy!

Well, I'm not sure how I figured it out actually. I logged in to dvcmember.com to do our online check-in, and after clicking through some of the links (I think I went to the "vacation center" and then clicked on "upcoming vacations"; I still find the webpage not very user friendly...) it showed that we had a 1 bedroom wheelchair-accessible room. We called member services this morning to confirm, which they did. We then asked if the room still came with the jacuzzi tub, and after being put on hold for a while, we were told it did not have one... which surprised me.

I think the cast member was either mistaken or confused.

My husband and I have no issue with staying in a HA room, we were just hoping it still came with a tub; since it's only the two of us, it's really the only reason we go 1 bedroom over a studio (not to mention the w/d).

It sounds like we should be ok. Thank you for helping, I knew I could count on DisBoards!

Federal law changed and the March software upgrade added the HA booking info to the reservations and the website.

All one bedrooms have a jacuzzi-type tub and a stand alone shower.
