I’ve been booking my family of 5 in a 1bedroom at BWV for 11 years.
I went to book my trip for next February 2024 at the 11month window. And the website specifically made me change my party to a group of 4 instead of 5. Room occupancy is listed as 4.

I find it so frustrating that they have not added the extra pull down bed under the tv. Or the extra single chair pull out to these rooms. How does it make sense to squish 5 people in a studio but not in a bigger 1 bedroom?? Yes I’ve always brought bedding for my youngest child at the current set up. But now I can’t even have the fifth person listed on my reservation.

We lucked out this past visit in March and were able to get on the Tron preview. Which was awesome! And all five members of my family were listed on the reservation. So we had no issues at all getting in to the preview.

I’ve read in the past you needed to call to add the fifth person. I’ve not had to do that in at least the last 5 years. I haven’t called member services in a long time. I much prefer booking online. And don’t want to waste my time on a long phone call/wait to be told Nope occupancy is 4.

So frustrating

As you said in your post people have to call to add the 5th person now. It's possible you could also do it via chat. It's been theorized they are doing this so that people realize there is not a 5th sleeping surface when the 5th person is added to the reservation. Nothing is preventing you from doing that to add your 5th.

As to adding a pull down bed under the TV or a pull-out chair like at AKV or BLT. it cannot be done in the lock-offs at BWV. The door between the 1BR and studio of the lock-off is in the living room of the 1BR near the TV. The distance between that door and the kitchen shelf is less than what is needed to add the cabinets with the pull-out bed; they would have to go to a much smaller cabinet bed than the ones at other resorts which have one, and it would be large enough to hold only a child. And adding one of those heavy pull out chairs would block the doors.

As a BWV owner I have no desire for them to expect or wish that they add the 5th bed. It isn’t what I purchased. And as others said, it isn’t feasible. Nothing is stopping you but you in calling to add them. Doing so ensures that you receive and acknowledge the message that bedding isn’t provided.

Aside from the odd high-demand event (like a member cruise booking), Member Services wait times have been very short for the past year, in my experiences. Opening a chat session via the member website is also an option.

Occupancy was 4 for us in August 2021. We had 5. I didn't have to do anything special as it was 2 kids and 3 adults. 1 kid slept in the King with us and 1 slept with Grandma on the pullout. I just had to put down the names of all 5 of us on the reservation. We didn't need extra bedding so perhaps that's why it wasn't difficult.

Also could be an infant, which doesn't count as a child in the DVC system.
