BWPPI or Super 8 on Katella?

Hi all! I have reservations for the Super 8 on Katella for March 12-15. I got a great rate there. I could switch over to BWPPI for a total of $156 more including tax. Is the BWPPI worth that much more? This is my niece's first trip to DL and her 16th birthday. She was at WDW once, 8 years ago. Is the 10 minute shorter walk worth it? I'm guessing we'll try to commando the park as much as possible. We definately need a breakfast with the hotel, too. Is the breakfast better at BWPPI? Thanks!

I would really go for it. Would I walk 5 miles for $156, sure since it's just exercise to me. But money well spent at DLR.

I agree. You absolutely cannot compete with the location, especially if you plan on really attacking the parks. You'll be VERY appreciative that your room is just across the street! I stayed at Tropicana last weekend, which is next door to BWPPI and I loved the location. It was so close that I ran back to grab a jacket and was back in the parks in ten minutes! I'm also scheduled to stay 2 nights at BWPPI next month because I wanted somewhere close. As far as the breakfast, I don't know anything about Super 8's, but I know that BWPPI's is a pretty standard continental breakfast from everything I've read.

The only thing I'm not sure of is parking. I think BWPPI charges $8 a night for parking. Does Super 8 charge? If that starts to really affect the budget, then it might not be worth it, but the location is REALLY hard to beat.

I agree with the last two posts. That is the best off-site hotel that is close to the park entrance. I like going back and forward to the hotel from the park to pickup a jacket or anything else when you are at the park. The BWPPI has a continental breakfast at Captain Kidd's restaurant right across from the hotel. It is upstairs during breakfast time. It is just standard breakast with bagels, muffins, cereal, etc. Also don't eat at Captain Kidd's restaurant since it is horrible food over there. I don't know anything about Super 8, so someone who has stayed there will have to jump in and talk about it.

BWPPI does charge you for parking a car. Don't forget your parking ticket if you want to leave the hotel and go somewhere else. They have a high fee is you loose it.

I've stayed at the Super 8 on Katella twice and it was okay but it would not be my first choice. My MIL was paying for the whole family so I didn't have much say in where we stayed so that's why we stayed there 2 differeent times. The do have great prices but personally i would spend a little more to stay somewhere else unless that meant i couldn't go at all.

Parking is free at super 8 and it is within walking distance but I wouldn't want to walk it more than about 2-3 days. The breakfast is very small - cereal (2 kinds i think), doughnuts, muffins, juice. They also have a "guard" stationed at the breakfast area which is kind of weird. Also, the rooms at super 8 are a little musty which bothered my SIL with asthma. The first year we stayed there we had problems with getting the fridge we had reserved (never got it), the staff wasn't very helpful or friendly and the clock in the room didn't work. The second time we didn't have any of those problems.
