BWPPI or BW Anaheim Inn?

Trying to decide between these two for a solo trip in around January of next year. I tend to be in the parks rope drop until they kick me out, so I don't need 2891 fancy pools or kids play areas. Really, I don't need anything "special." Just a place to rest my head at night that's clean and comfortable; maybe a nice hot tub to relax after my flight my first night. For what it's worth, we usually stay at PVI or Tropicana, and we love both.

Not looking into any other locations, as we have a certificate for 2 free nights for either of these locations :)

Thanks!

My family usually stays at the BWPPI. It's got a great location. The rooms are fine, nothing fancy or special, but serviceable and clean. I've never felt unsafe while walking to and from the motel even late at night. The complementary breakfast is fine (again, nothing gourmet or special, but it's at least warm and filling). I haven't tried out the hot tub or pool, but I know they have both.

What does the pool look like at BW Anaheim Inn? I did not enjoy the small pool or crowded sheltered hot tub at BWPPI. It's kind of in a hole in the side of the building and rooms overlook it on three sides, leaving not much for scenery. The Tropicana's parking lot situation felt a lot more open and both the pool and hot tub are pretty good sized. But I have no idea what the other BW's set up is like...

BWPPI was in a fantastic location, which is why we tried it. Comfortable beds and clean rooms, but the property was nothing too impressive with lots of concrete.

Have you looked into the Holiday Inn Express Resort Area? It was about the same price as the BW was when I was searching and the reviews were a lot better (cleaner, built last year, etc). The breakfast is apparently better as well. I'm staying there next week so can report back on how my stay was if you're interested. The rate at BW was like 110 a night and Holiday Inn Express was like 122 (although I changed my dates and I'm now paying 138 per night).

Won a contest for 2 free nights at Best Western, specifically Stovall's owned properties, so not looking anywhere else :) Otherwise I'd just go back to my beloved Tropicana.

I haven't stayed at the BW Anaheim Inn, but I asked my friend who did stay there a few years ago. They said the rooms were comfortable, but a tad old looking. The breakfast was "fine" and the walk was pretty easy. They didn't try out the pool, but looking at Google Earth photos does make that pool area seem more open (still enclosed with a solid wall on three sides).

I have stayed at the Anaheim Inn a couple times. The location is great, and the rooms have always been clean. The newer breakfast area was very nice with lots of seating and a decent variety. The pool area however is a different story. It is tucked into the side of the building, not much seating and both times I've tried going to the pool (on different trips), the pool has been full of dead bugs and debris. It was really gross. I mentioned it on my surveys, but apparently it isn't a big deal to them. But the rooms I've had were very clean and that is really all that mattered.

Question for those who have stayed at BWPPI-
Our flight gets into LAX at 10:30am, but check in is not until 3pm. Will they hold your luggage for you if your room isn't ready so you can go to the parks?

We have had a few stays at BWPPI....it's fine and I would think more than adequate for a solo stay (roomy). Very comfortable and customer service was fine....yes, small pool area, but that was ok when we needed it!
(....for pp....yes, they do hold luggage at check in or check out)

We've stayed at both BW properties as well as Tropicana and Park Vue and either of these BW properties will be a good choice for you. We've had good experiences with both and really, I'd put all of these properties in the same category in terms of convenience, price, etc. I may even put the BW ahead because they have slightly better breakfast choices and MUCH bigger breakfast rooms than PVI's.
