I am thinking of booking BWI for Nov 9th-14th at rack rates at this time :crazy2: and just keep an eye out for codes but because of Jersey Week (which is why I need to go then), soap weekend and wine festival at Epcot I am not holding my breath.

Here are my questions - How bad can the garden view be? As of now, its about $500 for five nights with WV and $900 for garden concierge. Has anyone ever had any luck upgrading at BWI during check-in for less $$?

All that said, for those of you who have done BWI concierge-is it worth $900? I want my DH to be happy since he lets me book Disney every year for myself and DS and I think he may be a little upset if he is looking at a parking lot.

Thanks

Can't answer all your specific questions, but we are AP holders and have always been able to get a discount for BWI during that time. It may be "Jersey Week" but that's not a holiday time!

We have stayed garden view concierge and had a lovely view of some gardens and France in EPCOT. My favorite view tho is when we are facing the YC/BC. Our last room was over the bakery and it was a lot of fun to sit on the balcony and just enjoy the sights.

Good luck!

Jill

Thanks Jill

I guess I may be a little over worried on the "Jersey Week" thing. I just keep reading that it gets crowded during that week.

Was the YC/BC view a regular water view?

When booking 'standard' view at the BWI have them make a note on your reservation that you'd like to request a "courtyard view of the rose garden".
Great location ~ many of the rooms here have a nice view of the Eiffel Tower and Illuminations fireworks at night.

Last trip I had requested a courtyard view and they did upgrade us to a waterview room. Honestly I didn't like that room as well ~ we were down on the end fairly close to the ESPN Club and it got quite noisy at times even with the balcony door closed. So, if I ever booked a waterview/boardwalk room I would request to be away from that end.
But I've always been very please with our 'standard' rooms at the BWI and will continue to book those.
For a great waterview we stay at the YC :)

We have stayed at the BWI and got an AP rate. I would think they will have AP rates again for that time period. I also had a garden view room and I requested non smoking Epcot view. We got a room that overlooked the courtyard where the Garden villas were. It was so pretty and we saw Illuminations from our balcony every night. We could see the Eifel tower and higher fireworks from the show.

No matter what you get you won't be looking at a parking lot. One side looks at the Boardwalk itself, one side overlooks the Village Green that is between the Inn and the Villas, one side looks out on the rose gardens and one side Epcot. I think you're safe just booking standard. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for codes or hoping for upgrades. Aside from Jersey Week, that's also Food & Wine Fest time. From my experience at that time (3 trips and counting), all the Epcot area hotels including Swan and Dolphin are likely to sellout. Disney is usually pretty savvy about not offering discounts or upgrades when they can fill the rooms at regular prices.

Some of the standard views do face the front driveway. I had a standard view once and we faced the walkway to the bus stop. It was on the second floor but there's an incline down to the bus stop so our room was right next to the walkway, people were walking by and talking all night. The second floor is actually lobby level. Luckily we were only there one night before we moved to BWV.

See this map. Most of the standard views face the courtyard but some do face the front driveway:

We have stayed at the BWI during Jersey week , It does not get that crowded.Seen the place at lot fuller the last week of Oct.And we had a AP rate for 10 of the 12 days we stayed .
