BWI vs. GF Is there a debate

I have stayed at both before and have loved them equally. I am a DVC member not staying on points for an upcoming Summer trip.

Right now I have a BWI booked for 2 rooms for a week. DGM and DGF along with me DW and DD and DFriend are coming and DGM calls me today and says "....I always wanted to stay at the GF..." I do the price comparison and with the AP discount it comes to about $700 more for the week to stay at GF/per room

So for those of you that have an opinion what would you do?

For 100 more per day, I think I would book GF, since your grandmother (or godmother?) specifically mentioned wanting to stay there.Unless your focus is Epcot and/or DHS!
Monorail, beauty of the resort, more dining and shopping, fancier feel, etc. make it worth it for a special vacation. Also walk over to the Polynesian one night:stitch2:

I'm trying to figure out if DGM and DGF mean grandparents or your parents (or possibly another option).

Are you only paying for your room or both rooms? If I where paying for only one of the rooms, I would take the resort preferences of the other traveling group into serious consideration. You already know that you like the GF. It is more expensive, so you would need to weigh if the price difference is acceptable. If I were OK with the price difference, I would probably err towards staying at the resort that DGM would like to stay at, barring that there aren't other factors at play (ex. your wife hates the GF, but loves the BWI).

If you are paying for the whole reservation, I would be very hesitant about switching the reservation. It's a big deal to ask someone who's footing the hotel bill to spend an extra $1,400. It wouldn't be an automatic no. There is wiggle room too, like would they be willing to pay for the upgrade difference? If they wouldn't/were unable to pay the difference, then it really becomes a very personal choice and would probably have a lot to do with my relationship with that person.

DGF and DGM are my parents LOL it is Grandma and Grandpa for my DD (9)

We are each paying for our own rooms but the old folks may want to stay at the GF so bad that they pay the difference for both rooms in which case its a no brainer for me

It seemed like them being your parents made the most sense.

Yes, if they are willing to pay the whole difference it would be an easy decision in my book. If you still have to pay for your upgrade, I would do it for my mom if it could feasibly be worked into the budget.

Yes, if mom/grandma has always wanted to stay there, I would do it (especially if she will help you pay the bill!).

I would do GF if it doesn't blow the budget. I love BW, but there is something so special to me about GF.

If the grandparents are paying the difference, I'd opt for the Grand!

I can see many circumstances in which there could be a debate on GF vs. BWI. They have very different vibes, park access convenience, nightlife.

In THIS circumstance, no debate. If grandma has always wanted to, go with that. Because grandma.

I'd go GF!! We love it! There is just something extra magical about being able to see MK & Castle from your resort, and being able to watch Wishes & Electric Water Parade from resort too!!
I haven't stayed at BWI, mainly because it doesn't appeal to me. And Scary clown pool! If I stay in Epcot area, I prefer YC/BC.

If your parents are paying the $1400 difference, I would go for it. The GF is beautiful.
