Ok, so what is the difference, really? We really want to stay there, but is one better than the other?
Personally, I much prefer the room decor at the BWI to that at the BWV. If having a studio/multiple bedrooms is important to you, though, room decor is not worth worrying about. I just find the inn rooms a bit more elegant looking if that is a priority for you.
Honestly the major differences is the room categories.
At the Boardwalk Inn you can get a Standard Room with the Standard View or Water View. Plus you can also reserve various Club Level room categories and those can be in a Standard Room, Deluxe Room, Garden Suite, 2 Bedroom Suite (Accessible), 2 Bedroom Suite, Sonora Vice Presidential Suite and the Steeplechase Presidential Suite.
At the Boardwalk Villas their room categories from a Studio, 1 Bedroom Villa, 2 Bedroom Villa and a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa.
Some minor differences is that check-in for the Boardwalk Inn rooms is 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM for the Boardwalk Villas rooms. Plus Boardwalk Villas guests can not request a late check-out and there are specific elevators for both the Inn and Villas sections. When you enter the lobby from the main entrance the Inn elevators are on the right past the Belle Vue Lounge and the Villas elevators are on the left past Dundy's Sundries.
However other then that both guests use the same lobby when checking in, have access to the same stores, restaurants, parking lot, valet services, bell services and transportation.
That was sort of where I saw the difference. We just need a room for 2 adults, we don't really care about Conceirge, multiple rooms, etc. A nice view would be nice, but I guess I am mainly going to have to see where they can accommodate my medical needs and go from there, that is probably the best thing. I think I would prefer BWI.
I guess I asked because I really didn't see much more than visual differences. I have only passed thru BWI a couple of times, but it just fits the convenience we are looking for this time and seems more of an adult atmosphere since we are celerating our Anniversary. We also love the Boardwalk area.

I would opt for a water (boardwalk) view at the BWI! Then you will get both the view you are looking for and the superior room decor. Have a great trip!![]()

but I had a managers special rate of $250 for spring break so I wasn't complaining! We'll be at the GF the first weekend in December, looks like you'll be closer to Christmas. Enjoy!congratulations on your anniversary.
depends upon what your medical needs are - if food allergies would go with BWV and buy what you know you can eat.
with BWV to get a king you must go for a 1-bedroom villa and up.
for BWI think most of there units are the two queen beds.
Hey neighbor, what's up with you? Congratulations on the anniversary. We spent one night at BWI before the cruise in April. That was our only stay there but I was impressed with the rooms. Decor is Victorian with being fussy, warmer than the GF. Tons of space, especially if it's just the two of you. Mini fridge in the cupboard, flat screen tv. Daybed. Good bathroom layout. very spread out but under one roof with access to the BW. We didn't get a view room as we were only there for EPCOT dinner and a place to sleep before Port Canaveral so we wound up with a parking lot viewbut I had a managers special rate of $250 for spring break so I wasn't complaining! Glad that you decided on BWI. We have already rescheduled twice! Booked for Veterans day holiday then jeff couldn't get the days off. He's working mostly at Jack Hughston now and they have fewer docs. Then we rescheduled for second week of Dec, discovered that we'd miss winter music concert and honor band/all state auditions, meaning possible failing grades for both girls. Went from GF to Poly now back to GF, sheesh! Dining is challenging too!
I can't even remember how many times I have booked and rebooked this trip. We have both been approved for our time off, so that is concrete and now I that I have BWI, I am not changing it again.
I think my dining is finally set in stone, although I am thinking about adding Kouzzina for breakfast one morning.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
We can't consider the BWV (too many people) but I've been stalking BLT 1BR Villa just in case something opens up. Right now we're in BWI and I'm actually thinking we're just going to keep it -- I really want to be on the Boardwalk and near EPCOT/HS but the Villas have such nice amenities... NO, we're going BWI - end of story.... or not.
I'm going to Orlando next month with my parents and DD for WWoHP (no Disney... *sniff*) but we're going to Kouzzina so I can see if it's as awesome as everyone says and I plan on trying to book it for our group.
Why not look into renting points from a DVC owner? You might end up staying cheaper, and have a better room for it. Doesn't hurt to at least look into it and find out the cost differences.
