What is the going price for airfare from BWI to MCO? round trip, of course. what have some of you paid...... what is a good airline for that route?

Thanks! I haven't flown in 10 years! :D

Recently this flight was as low as $120.00. I'd be comfortable with anything $150 or less. Look in the Washington Post's Sunday Travel section at the chart showing representative air fares for various destinations from the three Washington area airports. You can get an idea what fares are running. We're in northwestern Virginia.

I think May will be a lot more reasonable. Maybe you should sign up for their Tu/Thurs email specials. We have tickets thru SW for Dec and they are $190pp which we think is high...but they are non stop and good times, so we won't complain. I believe BWI-MCO offer the 2 hr SW and Trans Air that are the non-stopw/ a few Delta. The other airlines may be cheaper, but take 5-7 hrs.

I flew this May from BWI to MCO roundtrip for $96 on Southwest. This was a one day rate that I had watched carefully for. The flights were non-stop.

I usually leave out of Dulles myself and have been paying between $140 to $155. BWI is sometimes cheaper, so I would use those numbers to gauge. We flew this past May for $148. I use travelocity and edited my own profile which includes BWI and Dulles prices to MCO. Just a quick look each morning. I do find that when one airlines drops their fare, the others usually do within the next day. I don't have my tickets for my October trip yet, so am still waiting. It's about $176, which is a little high. We paid $131 last October. September and January have been having extremely good rates for the past couple of years. Now with all of the talk of bankruptcy of many airlines, this will make it touchy on which airline you want to fly on. Delta looks to be one of the stable ones right now for us, so will be watching their rates for October. You are fortunate to be in this area where there are so many airlines to choose from that fly non-stop---which is the only flights we choose. Dulles is 45 minutes from our house and BWI is about 1 hr. 20 minutes. Good Luck and check the budget and transporation boards. Folks will usually post when a sale appears!!

We are leaving 8/25/02 via AirTran from BWI-MCO non stop and paying $157 round trip. I book the ticket back in March, should of take the changes and wait and could got it for $129 round trip non stop few week ago. Keep checking SW and AirTran, they usually have special round trip for $99.

n2mm - A question for you!

How do you find the rates travelocity offers? I received their e-mail this morning stating rates had dropped from BWI to MCO to around $105. There doesn't seem to be a direct link to rates from the e-mail. Am I missing something?? When I put in my dates, the best rates come up as $176.

Thanks for any help!!!

You just edit your profile and tell it to watch a certain route and how much you want to pay. As for the email, you will get messages that the rates drop, but chances are they may not be within your dates. All you can do is put in the generic destinations, i.e., BWI to MCO and don't put in any dates. You will see the lower fares, but chances are they will have a cut off date. You have to watch to see if your dates fall within those new lower prices guidelines. Hope that made sense. And as always, watch both the transportation and budget boards to any new discounts. Both boards have alerted me so many times to new fares!

Southwest has been running really good specials from BWI to MCO. I bought in May their buy one get one free for Sept flight, so two of us are flying for $224 total (includes all taxes/security fee). Just two weeks ago they had their fresh squeeze special to Florida. This special only ran for 2 days so I bought two tickets for Dec flight, total cost was $290. All of these flights are non stop. I get Southwests emails that announce their specials every Tues.
