BW View Question

We arrive on Sunday for 5 days and were booked for OKW. I have been calling and calling to try to switch to BWV with no luck - and today I got it! Well, all except the last night when we have to switch to OKW but no big deal.

My question is - we booked a preferred view studio and the CM at MS offered me the BW view or the pool view. I opted for the BW view. How good are my chances of actually getting that view? I'm not really one to be picky over my view (in fact I really wanted a standard view but it wasn't available), but since I am paying extra points I figure I want to enjoy it at least! Will I really see the BW or end up with just a teeny, tiny view of BW if you really lean to one side and the rest of trees or something?

As far as getting a BW view is concerned, *supposedly*, views are granted according to the date that they were requested. In other words, if another member booked a preferred BWV studio 11 months to the day and requested a BW view they should get it before you do. Does it always work that way? I don't think so.

My husband and I booked a BWV preferred 5 months out and requested a BW view. I called the BWV rooms controller the day before to remind them of my request. It doesn't hurt. Does that phone call always work? No, it doesn't. However, I think it's okay to remind the controller of your request.

As far as our view with that Studio, well it was really a Boardwalk/Courtyard view, directly over the Wyland Gallery on the 4th floor. It was a really nice view. Well, worth the extra points. We love the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk and found that the noise level didn't bother us one bit. Our last trip down we had Grand Villa 3037 and we had a supreme Boardwalk View. It was awesome. Personally, we think that the BW view is worth the extra points, but not the pool view. So far we've lucked out with our requests, but I'm sure that sooner or later we won't get exactly what we want.

The next time down we might try for a standard studio to see how we like that. Good luck with your request.

I will be interested to hear if you really get the boardwalk view. We have requested the BW view four times and have NEVER gotten it. All of those requests were made at exactly 11 months out. I thought I would be a "shoe in" for the view since I called daily for my reservations. No such luck. We have always gotten the pool view - ok, but not sure it is worth the extra points. One trip, we added an additional studio to our reservation for just three nights of the week's stay. Made that reservation 6 months out. Sure enough - they got the boardwalk view according to MS. It was over the Wyland gallery - third floor - so it wasn't a "true boardwalk view" in my opinion. I have decided to go for standard view most of the time because it saves some of my points to either stay longer or come back again!

there are no BW views that have trees in the way, and that you have to lean over to see the BW, however if you have a courtyard view, you will only have partial view of BW, but it is still very nice. only 20% of the rooms have BW view, so ther's your odds. As far as getting your requests from how long ago you made your reservation, I'm not sure, I made my ressie 7 months out, and got the most spectacular view!!!!
