I meant to post this earlier (photo taken on 1/6/05). It shows the work on completion of the fence in front of the old sales center. The gates are gone and they were ready to put in fencing. Maybe the new villas will have a little courtyard. Hope there have been extra efforts made to sound-proof these villas from the noise when Jellyrolls closes at night.

I don't think I would want one of those rooms. Besides the privacy issue with people walking close to your room and balcony/patio, I don't think they would be a great view. You would be looking straight out at the boardwalk, it would be hard to see the lake. If they have those stands up on the boardwalk, there would be no waterview. I wouldn't want to pay preferred view points for that.

Thanks, Jean - I've been wondering what was going to be in front of the patios for those villas. In one sense, it might be fun to be so close to the Boardwalk, but I also wonder if the occupants of those villas willl feel somewwhat "on display" - i.e., a lack of privacy.

Will look forward to reports from those who stay in them.

Thanks again for posting the picture.

Has the design for the frontage of these rooms been shared with the public? Artist/architect sketches? It'll be interesting to see how they incorporate these rooms into the general theme of the boardwalk.

Thinking about staying in one of these rooms, I'm undecided which emotion would take precedence: 1) the need for security and privacy. My kids often forget to lock the balcony door. And is it possible to come home to find boardwalk visitors using the room patio? 2) the novelty of having your own patio on the boardwalk. It would certainly be a cool place to kick back and people watch.

My concern with these rooms is security. I've seen a few posts about 'interesting' behavior when Jellyrolls closes at 2am.

Hopefully the windows will be like we've noticed on cruise ships when the cabin is on the Promenade Deck. Passengers in those cabins can see out, but even at night with the lights on, people walking by can't see in.

I think those rooms would be great to have just hop out your balcony door and you are in the action what better way to have it.
