Can anyone tell me if there are 2 BDRM villas that face the inner courtyard at BWV that are classified as "BW View"?We're hoping to have a true BW view villa in January, not one of these.....

If so, can anyone tell us what room numbers to be wary of?

There are no 2 bedrooms facing the Village Green. There is one dedicated 1 bedoom on each floor that is classified as boardwalk view (room closest to the corner x051), the rest are studios and those are considered pool/garden view.

If you booked perferred/Boardwalk view you should get the Boardwalk:thumbsup2. Just call the resort 4 days before you get there and put in a request for a Boardwalk view to make sure. They can't do anything if you call more then 4 days before you get to your resort because they don't get the room assaignments before then.

DVC resorts don't accept phone calls for requests. They already have boardwalk view booked so there's no reason to put a request in for it. They could call member services and request a certain area of the boardwalk, like above the store or Crest of the Wave (farthest end). I haven't had alot of good luck with requests at BWV, I always request top floor and only got it once and that was the time I got 5051, the corner room.

The only room I would not want are the 3 or 4 on the first floor right next to Jellyrolls, right on the boardwalk level. That would not be much of a view and would be noisy.

Boy thats funny I do it every trip and was even told to call when we had the pool view the second straight time and we asked how we could make sure we get a Boardwalk view. :confused3

The only way to get a BW view is to book a BW view and then it will be guaranteed. Years ago pool view and BW view were not in separate booking categories, but now they are.
Regarding the original post: DebbieB's info is spot on. We have also had the dedicated one bedrooms -051. 5th floor is tolerable but the lower floors have trees blocking much of the view. But, since -051 rooms are dedicated one bedrooms and you have booked a 2 bedroom, you don't need to worry about getting those.

Thats exactly what I said in my first post If your read it.:confused3 If you book a boardwalk view you should get a boardwalk view I said to just call and make sure.:upsidedow

As to OPs question: all the 2BR boardwalk views are rooms that start just before where Big River Grill is and run down from there to just before Jellyrolls.

I did read your original post but I just wanted to clarify in my post that preferred view can be either pool/garden or BW view. Sometimes posters have not been aware of this. Sorry if I offended you.

This is the classic BoardWalk view ( http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mikefeedone ) , everything else is another catagory.

Thanks, Mike for posting this! I love sitting at work and watching the BWV live

If the OP has booked a boardwalk view, then they will definitely get it. Back in February 2008 I faxed a request for over the Wyland Gallery and upper floor and got it. I was renting points at the time too.

Plus when I went in Dec 2008, the CM said lots of DVC owners request the same rooms for when they come back the next time and they try to honor it (you can call and make your request, is what he told me). My DVC owner requested upper floor, large balcony and close to elevator but I ended up with room 2001 and got none of my requests. But that same CM moved me the next morning and I got above Screen Door on the 3rd floor.

We always stay at BW, with BWView and have lucked out and got the floor and view. Did get top floor next to Jellyroll and you need a guide to get to the room.

If you book a boardwalk view, you will get a boardwalk view. I believe the original poster was concerned that possibly there might be a two bedroom facing the Village Green that was 'considered' a boardwalk view. But, there aren't.
But, I have to agree with those that said you can't call BWV to request something. Not sure who you talked to, but it's pretty common knowledge that you don't get put through to a room assigner. And, you can't fax a room request. You make any and all room requests when booking to begin with. DVC has been pretty firm on that. In fact, it's usually those DVC stays that I end up with villas that don't come close to my original requests...the regular resorts do a great job of that. But, if you book a boardwalk view, that's what you're going to get...no doubt about it.

DVC has posted on the member website that members are not to call or fax room requests. All requests are to be made through member services. Pool/Garden and Boardwalk views are actually reserved. Did you reserve a boardwalk view and get pool/garden?

Not always 100% "definitely". There was a recent case where rooms were taken out of service due to renovation and someone arrived to find they were moved from a boardwalk view to a pool/garden. Another poster found they were moved to another resort. Very unlikely to happen but there's always the possibility of extenuating circumstances.

This was the view I had from 5051:

I have to agree with you, Debbie (I'm a Debbie too!) I understand there can be circumstances especially with renovations. I am so envious that you got room 5051. Was that the grand villa? Great pics!!

No, it was a 1 bedroom. It does have drawbacks - the balcony off the living room is very small and the bedroom has windows instead of a balcony. The plus is it's very close to the elevator. I really prefer a room directly over the boardwalk.
