HELP!!! If money was no object which resort would you choose? We do not care about pools. We want to know about the resort with the better room sizes, better services, easier access to everything etc....... We are planning to stay CL but are undecided on which resort out of these 3. I would appreciate the good the bad and the ugly about these resorts. ;) Also, which resorts offer the best view thanks

I stayed at BCV in 2006 and BWV in August..Granted it is the villa side if that matters but I liked Boardwalk better....The CM's were friendlier..balloons for the kids in the lobby etc and I enjoyed coming home to "unscheduled" fun activities on the boardwalk.

We recently enjoyed our stay at the YC...we had CL...and they upgraded us from a garden to a lagoon view! It was excellent., could see "Paris" from our balcony, part of the BW....our balcony was spacious...the CM's were very accomodating. We had requested a King, and received it. It was less "hectic" than the BC side, and we had our DD with us who is a toddler.
The IPO covers all 3 of these resorts youe mentioned, and they were fantastic! THe bus picks up at YC first, then BC...and drops off first at YC...not a big deal to some....
You are also closer to the dock for the friendships boats to get you to Epcot or MGM.....we did walk to both once as well. Just a great location!
We are trying BWV in FEB for our day before cruise stay to check it out!
Have fun deciding!

Thanks, I am not too familiar with the villas. What type of bedding do they have ?also, are they like a suite? do you get conceirge?? Room service??? Housekeeping??????

If you don't care about the pool, then its pretty much a toss-up. All three are nice places, have a great location, and the room sizes are comparable.

I can only speak to the villas at BW and BC.

The villas at BW are slightly larger than BC. But since OKW is my home resort, I craved every extra square inch I could get! ;)

I don't know what time of year you're traveling, or if room temperature matters to you. After several trips to both BWV and BCV, I can guarantee that the air conditioning units work better in BWV. I like the room cold, and had no trouble keeping the room cold in BWV. BCV was just not the same, and it wasn't an individual room problem, because this was the case every time we stayed at BCV.

Answers to some of your other questions about the BCV/BWV:

  • DVC (villa) accommodations range from studio (kitchenette), to 1-BR, 2-Br, 3-BR. All villas with actual bedrooms also have spa tub, full kitchen, and washer/dryer.
  • Room service is available in all three hotels, including the Villas.
  • There is no concierge in the Villas, but there are different "views."
  • If you pay cash for you stay in the Villas (as opposed to renting points from a DVC member), you do get regular mousekeeping services.

We will be going in the month of January. We think we would like to do CL it is me, my DH and my DD who is 21. She will be using her wheelchair so I am trying to make the right decision based on where transportation is located and how far the Concierge Lounge is and where we can get the best view. We need a lot of room between my DD wheelchair and my DH work the comes with us:surfweb: Some people have said that if we were staying at BW not to get a boardwalk view so we can see Epcot. What views are the best from all three resorts? All of this gives me a :headache:

This was our preferred water view at BWV...Loved it! It was a fourth floor non HA studio.

If you are staying Club Level I will put in a vote for the BWI. The staff in the lounge is the best!!:thumbsup2 They go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. You will have the same planning office for your ADRs and other arrangements--they are also top notch. We have always gotten our requests with no hastles. I have heard good things about the Yacht & Beach Club resorts as well but have not stayed at either so can't say from personal experience. The BWI is our family's favorite and to us it is Disney. For a great view request a Boardwalk view or for a guarantee you can book a deluxe room that has a guaranteed Boardwalk view. It is the best!:cloud9:

OH so if you book a deluxe room you are guaranteed baordwalk view, I didn't know that. Can you also see EPCOT or is it just the Boardwalk and Lake?????
Does the deluxe room have more than one tv or is it just an extra sitting area? What floor is the lounge on? Is it far from the elevators? Besides my DD being in a wheelchair my parents will be getting their own room and my father complains if he has to walk far just to get out of the hotel....... UGHHHHHHHHHHH
How was the bus service there? TIA

:crazy2:

I've stayed at all three and greatly prefer BWI, and I'm not a pool person, either. And from everything I've read, concierge at the BW is much better than at the Y/BC.

We have stayed CL at BWI and BC. Without a doubt if the pool is no object, go for the BWI.:thumbsup2 We have had views of both the Boardwalk and Paris. You can also watch the Epcot fireworks on the balcony of the Innkeepers lounge. The staff at the Innkeepers Inn are top notch:thumbsup2 I have always made my ADR myself, but if something came up a the spur of the moment, the staff handle it without any problems. We have never had any problems with mousekeeping. Our room was always cleaned by early afernoon, and turndown service usually happened after 6:30 p.m. The lounge has great offerings and usually are refilled promptly. Bus service for the most part isn't that bad. If you end up standing on the bus on your return trip from the parks, you have the option of jumping off at the other resorts and walking back. Usually we hop off at the Swan and walk back which sometimes is a lot faster.

Is there a way to get a room with a view of the Epcots fireworks??? How far was the walk from the CL rooms to the bus stop and boat????

We have stayed Beach Club Club level twice this year and the staff is lovely. This is not to take away from BW CL staff, I just wanted to give a good word fro BC CMs. The BC is sooo close to the International Gateway of Epcot, too, and you can absolutely see the fireworks from some of the rooms!

steffali--The deluxe room does have two tvs and the extra room is great!:thumbsup2 I believe there are five rooms on the fourth floor and five rooms on the third floor. The lounge is located on the fourth floor. The bus service is just fine. We have never had problems. The buses do share with the other resorts some but again there never seems to be issues. I think you would be very happy! Then again, you are in Disney!:)
