OK I'm making a solo trip for 2 nights and no kids before I head to my sisters to help with her new baby. I had an annual pass and realized I could make one way tickets and still cost less then a round trip from Seattle to Tucson so I'm making a quick stop in Disney. Now I need to figure out a hotel. I don't want to spend the $$$ to stay in a Disney hotel because I was just there in June with our youngest and our whole family will be going for 10 days in December. I'm looking for nice accomodations at a great price. I've stayed at the Red Lion so I know where that is but wondered about the BW Anaheim Inn, the BWPPI was already full and the Hilton Anaheim I could get for $85 a night, the Red Lion was $72.

I know if I stay at Red Lion I could use the Toy story lot to catch the bus if I wanted too.

My mom and I both enjoyed the Red Lion in November 2011. If you're semi-fit, you can walk to the park. The rooms looked like they had been refurbished fairly recently, so they felt very modern. The staff was very friendly. The only thing that felt dated to me were the elevators. Like you said, the Toy Story lot tram is an option..you have to do a bit of walking to get there, but not bad--just not a straight line.

I think Hilton, you have to take a shuttle? Hopefully someone else can verify.

I am interested in hearing the feedback as well. I am booked at BW Anaheim Inn for our Nov. trip and have never stayed there. popcorn::

It is easier to get to the Toy Story lot from the Hilton than from the Red Lion. But ART also is available. And you have 3 routes to choose from. Hilton would be my preference of the 3.

We stayed at the BW Aanaheim inn this year and it was fine. It was very much like the BW PPI except smaller and the room was a bit smaller with a more old fashioned AC system. It was comfortable and quiet and close to the parks. I am sure the Hilton and the Red Lion (as it is newly remodeled) are nicer inside. If the price at the Anaheim Inn is good it is a fine place to stay.

Weed at the Anaheim Hilton a couple of weeks ago and we loved it. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the toy story lot and that was with a 4 and 6 year old. They also had free wifi but may be a summer only trial. The rooms were spotless and service was amazing and we were not honors members or anything. We had an amazing axperience there and I highly recommend it.

:confused3 but it is basically a straight line.....you walk out of the hotel to the sidewalk, turn left, walk to the end of the block and turn left. That's it, no other turns to speak. Super easy to do this, we did it with no problems at all.

OP if you're interested in a cheap close place to stay try the Anaheim Plaza, we usually get a room there for $59-69 a night, it's close enough to walk with ease. There are a few issues but not enough to make me not stay again. I always feel safe, it isn't super loud, it's clean, staff is friendly. The issues are some think the beds are too hard (I don't feel that way and I prefer a softer bed) and the water temp seems to fluctuate, when I shower I'm very careful as it can go from perfect to freezing to scalding in a matter of seconds. But, I've never actually burned myself from the water so for me it's workable. :) The water issue may also not be in every room...... :)

I should have said, if your feet are tired at the end of the day, it's a bit annoying when your shuttle lets you off and you see your hotel on the other side of a fence or partition or something that you can't just walk across!

(I recall 3 turns in that you'd turn left into the lot and double back to the shuttles, like a C shape instead of the L shape you describe...but maybe I'm remembering wrong. Or maybe I walked wrong. :rotfl:)

I had no idea the Hilton was so close to the Toy Story lot. Given the price that does sound like a good deal.

No, it's a straight shot in, you just turn left onto the sidewalk from the hotel and then left into the lot, then walk basically into the shuttle pickup area. You do have to veer slightly left but it's not a turn, more like a merge so you don't get run over. :)

We've stayed at the Hilton before and loved it. It's very modern and definitely a 4 star property. ART is very easy from there. The bus that stops there is a non-stop route to and from Disneyland, so no time wasted on other stops. Also, the Marriott across the driveway has a non-stop ART bus, too, so you really have 2 buses to use. Kind of nice if you happen to just miss one and the other is there waiting. Toy Story lot would be an easy walk, too.

If you choose the Hilton, ask about getting a Disney view room on a high floor. We had an awesome fireworks view.

Here's a link to the review I wrote about our stay at the Hilton.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much! This is what I wanted to hear. Since it's just me and I plan to stay in the parks as long as possible, I decided I wanted a better room. Someone had posted the last minute travel website and I could tell from photos which one was the Hilton and the Red Lion so for $85 a night I could have the Hilton.

ok it took me a minute to figure out you were saying "we stayed"..i looked at your SN and then at your post and i thought for a second you were trying to say Hilton had weed and thats why you loved it:rotfl2::lmao:

OP I am all for Hilton over the 3...I to have stayed at Red Lion but remember...just as RL charges for parking, so does the Hilton and BW Anaheim does not charge at all for parking...so keep that in mind when you are factoring in cost....

I won't be driving so hopefully won't be charged for parking. Does anyone know if this is true?
