BVS or Caribe Royale?

Booked the Caribe Royale for $99/night. Just saw on Mousesavers that their sister hotel, the BVS, is $89/night and includes a free breakfast. Not sure if I should cancel Caribe Royale and go with BVS. Anyone know if there's a big difference? Heard alot of good things about the Caribe Royale but not too many reports on BVS. Any advice? Thanks

Years ago I was in the same dilemma. Went with BVS, it was okay, nothing special, and same thing about the breakfast. Walked over just to see Caribe Royale - really nice place... Pool was certainly more inviting....Niece said, "how come we didn't stay here?" "Free breakfast." "Ugh," she said, "I would have given up breakfast to stay here."

Of course, she was just a 'tween at the time - not much concept of the value of a dollar. Now she is working at a sandwich shop. I wonder if she would say the same thing.

That was probably close to six years ago - does anyone know if BVS has been renovated?

We just stayed at Caribe Royale in February and it was really nice. The newly renovated two room suites are great. I'd give up the free breakfast at BVS for sure. The pool at Caribe Royale is alot nicer too! There are plenty of places to get breakfast including dunkin, waffle house, ihop and a pretty good buffet at Golden Corral. If you wanted to just have a quick breakfast( we went to the supermaket and picked up a few things) in the room there is a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker. My two boys loved having the extra room and tv.

We went through the same thing - finally decided to go with the Caribe for the awesome pool and work out facility. We're only there 1 night before moving over to the Hard Rcok Hotel....I wanted to start our tip out with a "bang" by going to a place with a pool the kids would love. There was a recent discussion on this a couple of weeks ago...

Have fun! We leave tomorrow!

Where did you find it for $99? I haven't found lower than $117 for the end of June. We stay there every year.

According to Mousesavers, all of the rooms were renovated in 2008. I'm counting on this for our July reservation. :)

Geez the Caribe Royal is a blast from the past.....Before we moved here and before we knew how reasonable staying on pproperty was we used to stay there all the time.....Great breakfast buffet and top notch pool....great slide but im sure its changed in 9 plus years.....we actually did the grand opening which its hard to remember but maybe 12 or more plus years....

Caribe is a lot more "upscale" than BVS. We've stayed at both in the 2004-2006 time frame - I'd definitely pick Caribe over BVS.
