Anybody know how to get more points on the home game of AstroBlasters? I can't seem to get more than 75,000 and there are people getting 700,000 points. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
:t:

I squeeze the trigger and never let it go...I always seem to have the most points in the car.

I don't know about the home game, but I can't figure out for the life of me how people get a million points on the actual ride! :scratchin

My best is 170,000

I can't even get past 6,000 on the online version. I'm wondering how you even get 75,000.

But with the new connection to VMK prizes, I really want to learn how to score more.

There's a lot of discusion about it lately on the VMK board, so you may want to check there.

There's a couple of ways to get a high score.

1. Get lucky like I did once and be on-board when they had to stop the ride for a handicapped loading and I spent about 5 minutes shooting at Zurg.

2. There are a couple of high scoring targets (10K points I think). Most of them are behind you as you travel, so keep a lookout for them.

3. Travel with a teenage boy and switch guns with him

4. Just like Paul Horning, Practice, practice, practice...

You are talking about the home game right?

For the home game...catch as many of the little green aliens as you can. These guys give you tons of extra points. You also get a lot for killing zurg and "Capturing" him at the end.

When you squeeze the trigger...do u mean on the actual ride or do you mean you hold down on the mouse at home??

I think they are talking about the actual ride.

When you hit one target it'll blink again (or open up) then, keep on hitting it.

~75,000 & 425,000 here! (the last one was awesome as we get stuck for a good two minutes at our car)

For the online game, only grab the blue batteries as they have a cumulative effect on your score--the first battery is worth 50, next 70, then 100, and the more you grab, the more they're worth. If you accidently grab a battery of another color the next blue battery goes back down to 50.

For the in-park game, you can't hold down the trigger on the DL version. You have to keep squeezing it. Each different shaped target is worth a different amount of points. The circles are worth 100, squares are 1,000, diamonds are 5,000, and triangles are 10,000. If the neon light around it is lit up they are worth the next higher point value, with the triangles being worth 50,000 (there are a couple of hidden 50,000 point targets on the ride). My highest score w/o stopping is over 500,000, though my average right now would be in the 300,000s. I mostly shoot at triangles and diamonds, trying to hit them multiple times. I only hit circles to activate other targets because some targets pop up after hitting them.

on the ride at dl, shoot the targets that have a blue ring around them. they always score you more points.

There are a couple of really big point targets to hit.
1. In the first room, on your left side hit the inside of the robot's hand.
Its worth 100,000

2. In the second room imediately turn right. There is a robot with several
targets on him in a "V" formation. Hit the very bottom target of the "V'"
Also worth 100,000. But note, you can only get the proper angle from
a distance just as you enter the room or about to leave and turn the corner.

3. (this one I've never found) But am told there is a target above a doorway
that if you turn around is worth 100,000.

My wife hit the first two and scored a perfect 999,999 points!

These are for WDW's version--not DL's. There are no 100,000 point targets in DL's Buzz. However, it is very possible to max out on points.

We were stopped during the ride also and my son got 2,200,000 points by hitting a target over and over. He had the 6th highest score of the day!

Also, just keep squeezing the trigger. I heard that for every 7 'attempted' shots, you get points whether or not you hit anything. It's not enough to make a huge difference in your score, but it helps the kids get some points on the board even if they don't hit anything.
