Hi All,

My DS and I will be heading to WDW in 3 short weeks! I was just wondering how the Buzz Lightyear attraction looks. Last year when we were on the ride, it looked so worn down. I was happy to hear it was getting a refurb. It is one of our very favorites!

So, to anyone who has been on it since it opened last week, how does it look?

Last time it came out of refurb, it still needed paint.

It was down for a good part of the day today. We may ride it before we leave the park, if so, I'll update you.

Went on it today. It was okay. I didn't notice too much of a difference from the past but maybe because it was having technical difficulties today. It was down on and off throughout the day.

When I was there Friday, which was supposed to be the opening date, it was only open for a couple hours in the afternoon. The CMs at the ride told me (I know, take it with a grain of salt) that all they did was replace the track, and they were having trouble with some of the cars not working on the new track. He said 35 out of their 100 cars were not working correctly.

We rode it this morning. I didn't notice a difference. Buzz was on stage in the queue area - he's been behind a curtain a few times that I've been there lately, so hopefully they have that issue squared away ...

We're going Easter week! The title of this thread worried me that Buzz would be closed that week. (sigh of relief) I love that ride!

On Monday 2/15 we waited over 30minutes in the FP+ line. The ride kept stopping and starting. Once at the front of the line, I saw a CM riding in a car with it hooked to testing equipment. Several cars were covered and/or kept empty as well. I honestly noticed nothing different, the guns still are hard to shoot and know if a target is hit at all. A nearby person said the "day-glow" or neon paint was new... wow... :confused3

Why reopen "on-time" if it is so glitchy?:worried: we were disappointed.

We have FP+ for this in two weeks. What Happens To FP if it's not working?

Disney will give you the option to use the FP+ on another attraction (they send a list of what it will be valid for) or allow you to wait until it reopens (essentially your FP+ becomes a "good anytime" FP+).

The only change I noticed: After you get off the ride, they've changed the bars of Zurg's jail...so you can't take a picture of your kid in jail with Zurg any more :(

I was there about a year ago, and it needed a SERIOUS paint job. Wallpaper was peeling off, and paint was chipping away. :sad2:
