Buzz Lightyear...HOW do you get a LOT of points?

My DH has a request! He wants to know if there are any strategies for getting LOTS of points on the Buzz Lightyear ride? He hit 150,000 this last trip and he is determined to get to 500K. Does anyone know what the highest score is so far from a rider? Thanks!

I have no idea, I remember one ride I was at 12,000 then I hit something and I was 999,999 I had to sit and do nothing for the rest of the ride, lol. It was a boring ride for me that day.

in one part i've heard the volcano offers 100,000 if you hit it and make it erupt.also the futher thing are the more points you get the closer the less,

I read somewhere that you should hit things that should be behind you but not sure exactly what that means as I haven't done the ride yet. Will be on my must do list for Dec 2 though. You may want to try the park secrets thread since you can't search yet.

I did not have good luck aiming at things, I guess I'm not a marksman, but one time I accidentally hit 1 -100,000 mark and 1 - 200,000 mark on the same ride. My husband was ticked, and I didn't want to ride again!!! I wanted to go out the champ, but we did, and I was back to my pitiful little score. My sister was watching when I hit the 200,000, she said I wasn't even looking at anything just randomly shooting, and it jumped by 200,000. Anyway, it was fun!

I believe you can score 100,000 points by hitting the backside of the giant orange robot's arm. Try to hit the targets directly in the middle for more points. That's all that I can tell you.

When you pass the robot turn your vehicle around and shoo the back of its hand, that is 100,000 points, also the top of the volcano is 100,000 points. Those are all I know, DS's were shooting the back of the robots hand one time when the ride stopped, I don't remember their final score, but it was high!!

Its good to know about the Volcano, will try to hit that next time. Just by getting the Bottom of the Claw and other targets, I finally racked up my high of 760,000.

I wish I'd known about this last week! No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to ever beat my sister; it's quiet perturbing. The fact that she always gloats about it doesn't help either. Maybe next time, maybe next time....

I've heard that the beam goes out from the gun in a cone shape. Therefore, you have to be very acurate to hit things nearby, but it is very easy to hit things far away. You should aim for the targets farther away to get max points.

I found that having the ride break down in the right room helps greatly. Hard to plan on that though.

As you start to enter the first room, look past the robot that's arms are moving up and down. Beyond him there is a target towards that back of that room on the left side. Hit as many times as you can. Also in the room with the volcano, keep shooting at the top of the volcano the whole time you are in that room. The more you hit it the higher your score goes. Also the farther away you are from these targets when you hit them the more points you'll get. I was able to get a little over 600,000 points!!

When you go thru the escape tunnel, it's dark with no targets...keep your fire button depressed as you will still accumulate points. Things small, far away, high, low, and moving are worth the most points. The "easy" targets are worth less. When the car spins you a certain way, it is spinning you AWAY from the higher points-manually spin your car around the other way!!

HA! That happened to me too. I had no idea what I did, but I was at 999,999. Four trips later, I still cannot get over 25,000.

You can also just keep you finger on the button to keep shooting. You don't have to push for each shot.

Now this I did figure out on my own this last time, whick helped a lot actually. I got to 150,000ish.

Here I am researching this for my DH and now I think I might not tell him all I have learned....hehe!

Here's one. After (gun won't reach if you try sooner) you pass Zurg standing on your right in a pulpit, turn the car around backwards and shoot the target at the bottom of the pulpit.
