I was so disapointed when I clicked on the link in the mousesavers newletter for future closings and it listed buzz lightyears ranger spin for most of January. We were there last July and DS (4) loved it. We rode several times. We planned a visit for January when it was less crowded and now his favorite ride will be closed. :sad1:

No need to be sarcastic, I was just stating that we were disapointed, which we are entitled to be, as it is a cool ride.

We're bummed, too, as I believe it will still be closed when we visit in February.

It's the risk you run when booking the offseason.

I think it stated that it would be closed through 2/8/06. My 4 yr old DS will be really sad. When we went last summer that was his favorite ride.

Oh yes! That is why we changed our arrival date from the 4th to the 3rd...ummmmm did I just admit to that!? :rotfl2::confused3

Smart! Ride once for us! We couldn't change dates around as it is our precruise add on! Have a great time! :)

Anyone who has been on this ride lately has to admit that it is time for a freshening up--chipped paint on the cars, guns not working properly, and the queue looked overly dirty.

The rumour has it that they are making the ride cars like the Buzz in Disneyland, so that the guns are hand held instead of stationary on the cars

Are they pretty acurate on the opening dates of the rehabs? We are there until Feb 5th so if they would finish early then we might get to ride on our last day! I know better than to count on them being finished early but I am hopeful!

Wouldn't that be a neat suprise for you if they did! I will cross my fingers for a suprise early opening for you! :wizard:

Back in October there were a couple of cars not working and the paint on the cars was chipped but it didnt keep up from riding it a couple of times. It was the first trip for my 2 yr old, and he loved it. My 8 yr old - its his favorite ride.

I personally would be really disappointed if it was closed when we went because it is one of the two rides that is on my MUST list.

This is great news! It was one of the rides we noticed needed a lot of work (along with Splash Mountain) when we were in the world last March. I can't wait to see it all spiffed up when we go in May!

:cool1:

I decided not to mention this in advance to the kids. If they knew now that their favorite ride will be closed, they would be having complete meltdown for the next week.

I figure it's better to wait until we are there and say "Awww, shucks. Looks like it's shut down today. What bad luck..." ;)

One time when we were at Disneyworld, Haunted MAnsion closed. My kids were so disappointed. Actually so was I. We rode it so many times before it closed. We will be in the Magic Kingdom for one day in Jan. (We are going on the cruise) My kids will be disappointed again. Are any other rides going to be closed???

Which specific dates are you asking about macky?
