I figured this would be the best place to put this question. So, Does anyone know if there is a Buzz Lightyear cake pan out?

A friend wants to do her DS's bd party in this and she came to me knowing I would know the right people to ask ;) .

Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give.

I don't know...maybe an internet search would reveal something? Good question though...DS loves Buzz and his b-day is next week. Hmmm.... :)

I have never seen one and I think I own all the Disney pans Wilton has ever made. I have made two Buzz cakes though. For one, I used the Wilton Color Flow. I found a simple picture of BUzz in coloring book and "traced" it and "colored" it using the Color Flow. This really needs to be done a week in advanced to let the Color Flow harden. I also made Buzz's space ship using Wilton's Wonder Mold pan and put the characters around it. My nephew loved both of these cakes.

Hope this helps.

I haven't seen one. Please post if you find one.
I was taught this technique in the Wilton 1 class that you might be interested in if you can't/don't want to draw "freehand" on the cake itself.

Find a picture of Buzz. Size it on your computer or at a copy shop so that it fits on your cake. Take a piece of wax paper and lay it over the picture and trace the lines with "clear" piping gel (or you can use the specific colors of the areas being outlined).
Frost your cake with a "background", then lay the wax paper, gel side down on top of the frosting. You can rub very lightly to make sure the gel transfers well. (don't rub too hard or you won't be able to see the gel outline) When you remove the wax paper you will have the image to "fill in", either with "stars", another tip, or a combination of frosting and fondant pieces. Some very detailed areas you may need to freehand in (like center of eyes, lines to mark individual fingers, etc) Keep the details in mind as you pick out what image you want to use. It works very well and is much easier than it sounds.
