We always bring these for our two boys to play with in the parks during downtimes (walking around Epcot, waiting for parades, etc.).

I know they no longer sell them but do you think we'll still be allowed to bring them inside the parks?

Thanks for any insight.

We did not see any kids with bubble guns last month. They now sell bubble wands instead. While you could bring them and they might be allowed through security, they could also be denied since in the FAQs toy guns are included in the list of Prohibited Items:
  • Weapons of any kind or object that appear to be weapons (toy guns, toy blasters, squirt guns, etc.)

Thanks for the info.

Although, I'm not sure how a toy plastic buzz Lazer blaster with a jar of bubbles could ever "appear to be a weapon".

I sort of understand the Frontierland wooden rifles but a bubble blower, meh.

Oh well, obviously not a deal breaker, it's just that our boys love these, and we have lots of great memories (and pictures) of them playing with them.

It could "appear" to be a weapon because a criminal psychopath (not even a master mind) could EASILY change that from a toy to a real gun.
Life as we once knew it has changed dramatically, sad to say...

Same criminal could change a bubble wand into a weapon as well. And THAT wouldn't be banned. Therefore it would be even more clever.

It makes zero sense and is completely reactionary, and has reduced the joy my son has for the disney parks. We have spent probably $200 over the years in (Star Wars) weapons at Disney, and now he can't get any more. And he is very irked with me and Disney because now he can never get those Frontierland weapons, which he asked for on every trip. The kid just loves those things. Has no interest in real guns, but loves the play ones.

(that said, I wish they'd get rid of the bubble things altogether. including wands.)

DGS also loved the Frontierland toy guns as well...
This is the world we have... Yes, reactionary, but also necessary.

Yes, the plastic guns had to go because all you have to do is put red tape/paint on the end of a real gun and voila! With 3D printing, it gets even trickier to tell real from fake. Also, there's nothing like having a kid point a fake weapon at you and "pretend" to shoot you/blow your head off in a theme park. Had that happen to me too many times to count before they got rid of them. My response to those kids is not Dis-friendly ;)

Wow you must be a desirable target!! I have been to WDW over 25 times and can't recall one time that a gun was pointed at me. With saying that....I am all in favor of the guns being banned from WDW. They are not needed and have no impact on a child having a good time at WDW. If they are coming for the guns then they are missing out on the great WDW experience.
