Even though your contract is closed they may still be able to help you. I would kick it up to a manager/supervisor who can offer to modify your contract. When I have worked with DVC it seems like their first response is to say there is nothing they can do. It may be true, but it may not.
But if they really cannot change your contract now that it is closed, you may be better off just holding onto your BLT for a couple of years until you get some value from it, especially if you have all of your points on one contract. You can use your points at any of the DVC resorts including GVC. I know that people have raised concens whether one can get ressies at the 7 month window at GVC, but as of right now it doesn't seem to be a problem. It may in the future but it seems like people are getting their dates. If you do choose to buy more points in the future you might want to get them in smaller increments. If you buy 100 points at GVC, for example, you can get 2 50 point contracts and still get the 100 point incentive prices. That is how we buy our contracts.
As far as my guide -- I think think that all of the guides at DLR are equally good.
You will have to call your guides manager to ask for a re-assignment and they will then pick a new guide for you. Just ask for someone on the same coast as you and then check the disboard to make sure that what your guide is telling you is similar to what other guides are saying.
It is too bad that you are having to navigate through this. Buying DVC should be fun and joyful.
