for DS or Wii....I know Game Stop sells them used - anyone have any problems buying them? Is this the smart way to go?

What about the used remotes & nunchucks? Smart idea or not? :confused3

We very rarely buy new games...all of ours are from Gamestop or another used shop near us. We've only had one problem with a game being bad and all I did was take it back to the store for an exchange or refund.

My boys love that they can trade in old games for new ones. We also have a used wii controller and it works great.

I say save yourself a lot of money and try used.

I pretty much only buy used games unless they are a present. Gamestop offers a warranty.... I do think that they ought to cost less, though, as many newer games are only $5 cheaper than buyin an unused copy.

I have bought tons of used games from Gamestop. I've had to take 2 of them back because they didn't work...they had no problem at all with refunding my money.

My kids have bought a lot of used games from Gamestop. Never had any problems.

Glad to hear this, I just bought several used Wii games on Amazon. Hastings had a bunch listed on there, and the prices were really good. I just hope DD can figure them out without manuals!

We have bought and sold games both at Game Stop and on Amazon. Never had a problem yet... except getting ds to wait for a used copy of a game that 'everyone has'. :goodvibes

I've gotten games from GameStop in the past and not had problems. But something to consider (which I never thought of before when I was buying from them) is that when you buy the resale games, it's the retail store itself like Game Stop that gets your money, NOT the ppl that worked hard to create the game. Now that I'm thinking about it like that, I'd rather my money go to the people who worked to create it even though it's some extra money to me. Just my 2 cents but like I said, I've bought from them in the past with no issues and sometimes it's really the only place you can find some of those older games :)

I have bought a lot of things from Game Stop over the years including new and used games. I am really impressed with the service from our local store.

I love buying the used games from gamestop because they have a 7 day period where you can return the game if you don't like it. My daughter got my sims and she hated it but we were able to bring it back and get a full refund 3 days after she bought it- you can't do that when you buy them new.
I wish she had gotten that hannah montana game used but she got it as a gift and we were stuck with it, that game really blew-she sold it to gamestop for a couple dollars just to get some kind of credit for it.

I wish I had known that... that game is terrible.

We buy used XBox360 games at Game Stop and haven't had a problem. We actually just returned one yesterday for a full refund...about a week after we bought it. :thumbsup2

DH and I buy used games from Gamestop ALL the time. I'd say at least 75% of the games we own are used and we've never had a problem.

Gamestop offers a warranty on their used games. I've never had an issue returning or exchanging them. Just keep the receipt in the game case so you don't lose it!

Right now, they have B2G1F on used games for both regular stores and online. You can also buy their discount card(good for a year) and save 10% off all your used games and accessories, plus you get a year subscription to Game Informer. I've had great luck with used games from Gamestop; they will take the game back if it stops working within 30 days.

We rarely sell games to Gamestop, because they will give you $5 for a game they turn around and sell for $13. I usually just sell games on Craiglist.

I've bought a lot of used games through ebay and amazon, as well as Gamestop, and have hardly ever had a problem.
On the other hand, I don't think I would buy a used controller. For the most part, if a game works, it's in good condition. Controllers, though are hard to tell what kind of condition they are in when you buy them used. For me, it's worth the extra few bucks to buy a controller that I know is in good condition (new), rather than take a chance of getting a used lemon.
