I am thinking about buying my travellers cheques soon.

Does anyone know who does the best deal with regards to exchange rates, commission free etc.

Thanks!!!

Lisa

If you have a nationwide account, they are commision free, and just a few quid postage.,and as they are travelex you get the same rate

Why use travellers cheques?

Why not just take a credit card?

With travellers cheques you are using your money now. With a credit card you do not use any of your money until the bill comes through the door a few weeks after you get back.

It is only my opinion but I have never understood why people take travellers cheques - although I do appreciate that only everyone has a credit card

Grumpy John... I take all three usually, as insurance against losing one or other (or running out!)

Also, I suspect many people fear they won't be disciplined enough to resist overuse of their cards in Orlando ... if you only have cash/cheques, the budget is set.

I prefer TC's and would hate to run up a big bill with a CC!!

At least with TC, you dont over spend, and you can see what youve got, plus the added bonus is not receiving that statement 4 weeks later asking for payment(can never work that out myself!)
