I just booked our stay through Orbitz and noticed they also have park tickets. Has anyone gotten tickets through them and are there any problems with doing it this way? Is there ever a discount for tickets like the hotels? Can I use Orbucks towards the purchase? Thanks for any help

Working backwards with your questions:
  • No, you cannot use your Orbucks on activities, which includes tickets.
  • Orbitz will sometimes run specials, like the current one featuring 7-day hopper for the price of a 4-day hopper. You can also look for cash back offers like ebates (currently 2.5% back for Orbitz activities, sometimes more). When there's a Disney ticket price increase, Orbitz will often keep their price at the older rate until they sell out of their inventory.
  • Yes, I've gotten Disney tickets thru Orbitz n the past. The biggest problem is getting your "Disney" confirmation number so that you can place your tickets in your MDE account prior to your arrival at Disney. If you intend to pick them up at a ticket booth once you arrive at Disney, your confirmation email with bar code will be fine.

I noticed the 7 day hopper for the price of a 4 day. Good price! It prompted me to put in my dates and when I did (May) the ticket is not an option then. I wouldn't think it would matter if I got the tickets with todays date since I won't use them till May…but maybe Im missing something. Do you know why they have dates for tickets?

From my understanding is that Orbitz does not send your ticket information to Disney until close to the dates you put in for your travel, and then eventually I think unclaimed tickets are "sent" back. So, I don't think your plan would work. (However, things might have changed since I looked into this.)

sometimes they have specials just like Disney does for there tickets and rooms. So they have exsperation dates, like Disney is doing a "new" 4 day park ticket right now for a limet amout of time. one day park per day but no double park in the 4 days.

I am comparing Undercover Tourist and Orbitz. They both have the 7-day for the price of a 4-day for $418-419, but the ebates makes Orbitz a better deal. I am wondering, though: will there be a delay in getting what I need from Orbitz to link it to MDE? I lost track and am already at my 60-day FP+ window, so I'm in a hurry -- the UT offer of e-tickets is appealing.

I went ahead and ordered the 4 + 3 from UT. I wasn't sure why orbitz wanted my travel dates and when I put them in that ticket wasn't available. I have used UT a few times before so I went with them and got the tickets in a couple of days.

I also ordered 4+3 from UT and chose ship to home. You can get some tickets by email but they are non-refundable. The UT ones were refundable if I got them mailed (minus a restocking fee). I am not sure if Orbitz offers this.

Report on my experience: I bought 4 tickets through Orbitz for a family traveling with us, and then I saw that ebates on Expedia was higher, so I bought our 5 tickets through them. They both sent me emails with voucher numbers, but they are not the numbers that need to be entered into MDE. I wasted a lot of time on the phone with Expedia (one hour) and then with Disney (20 minutes) the day after I bought them to try to get the MDE linking numbers, until finally Disney told me to call 407-566-4985 Option 5. I waited another two days before trying again, and by that time, I got an email from Expedia with the numbers in it (not the voucher numbers, the 12-digit numbers that started with the first four letters of my first name). I entered those numbers into MDE and they worked. I don't know if I would have got the email with the ticket numbers if I had not called, but they did not reference my call in the email.

Once I'd done all that, I still had to deal with the Orbitz tickets. For them, I started by calling that Disney ticketing number, Option 5. I got right through to someone who knew exactly what to do, and she was able to give me the numbers (again, starting with the first four letters of the first name) and I entered them into MDE myself and they all worked fine.

My ebates from Expedia have come through, but Orbitz is still showing as pending. So from my experience, next time I would do Expedia over Orbitz. They have higher ebates (at least at the moment), they send an email with the numbers (though it took two days), and the ebates came through more quickly. Either way, it seems the Disney ticketing, Option 5 people are the best ones to talk to if you have any trouble with linking to MDE. And next time I know to do it at least a week before I want to do FP+! (Though I did end up getting everything I wanted.)

I've done UT before, and I know that they are great, but our ebates totaled over $120 for the two families, so that was worth some extra work for me.
