I am certain that we used to get a discount when we pyrchased our tickets through AAA, but I just went to there website and the prices are the same as if we had purchased them at WDW. Am I mistaken about the discounts in the past or has there been a change?

Our AAA store does sell the tickets at a discount, the in store prices seem to be lower than the ones online I guess because of the postage charge.
The prices at our AAA include the taxes, which tickets on the WDW website are not included until you get to the check out.

When I called my AAA travel agent, she told me we would get a discount if we booked or bought through them. She then added on if we need to change anything or add anything to our reservation there was a pretty hefty fee. She told me anywhere from $50-60 per person! Wow!!:sad2: I decided just to buy all my things through Disney. But that is up to you. If your certain your not going to change anything then it might be good to go through AAA

You can buy park admission at your local AAA office without getting hotel or airfare through them. There is a discount.

If you will have a car, DO NOT forget to ask the agent for your Blue Diamond Parking Pass. They are free if you buy your tickets through AAA and you'll be able to park right up front next to the handicap parking spots. It's so convenient to bypass the trams. :rolleyes1

I used to work for AAA and the discount, at the time, was only worth it if you bought a 3 day pass or longer. A one or two day pass was the same price as Disney, and 3 days or longer was discounted with AAA. The longer the pass, the more the discount (a 3 day pass discount was slight while a 10 day pass discount was a little more significant). They load the tickets in the office while you wait so you can take them with you, and the prices they quote you do include tax.

With regard to the above quote, if you book your package through AAA, you do get an AAA package rate if its available in addition to the AAA package inclusions. I've never heard of them charging to make reservation changes - that must just be your club because our club in NY does not do that. Honestly, the TA bookings don't vary much from your own - it's done through the Disney reservations line. TA's have their own web site but it's not different from the WDW web site. And of course they make a commission. Maybe the busier clubs charge people to make reservation changes, since it can be time consuming to get on the phone with Disney (as we all know!), but check with your own club for their policy on that.

My girlfriend just bought them from AAA (storefront) and got a discount. They were very helpful.

If you buy ticket through AAA, can you get them transfered onto your resort key card?

Or will you have two tickets?

I just checked, we could save amost $60.

What are the cons to buying the tickets through AAA?

They CAN be put on your KTTW card, as long as it doesn't already contain a ticket entitlement (say, from a package deal).

There is no drawback to getting them from AAA - they are full MYW tickets just like you get at the gate. Sometimes you can get better discounts through other resellers, though. Shop around a bit. The discounts available vary by AAA operational region, where they appear to negotiate their discounts separately (AAA is operated like independent regional entities under a national name).

As for the Diamond Parking Pass, different offices seem to have different requirements to get it, such as booking a full package through them. There doesn't appear to be any particular rule.

You won't find 1- or 2-day tickets at a discount through any discounter, as Disney does not sell the tickets at a wholesale discount. In fact, getting them through a retailer can cost more for their handling of them.

I'm going by my AAA office to get a new baggallini tomorrow. I'll have to check their prices! We are AP holders, but my friend needs tickets for our coming up trip!

Yes, exactly why those aren't discounted at AAA. If the OP was trying to buy a one or two day ticket, that's why he or she wasn't seeing a discount.

To the person asking about buying tickets with a package, some people used to buy a one day ticket with their package since you need a ticket purchase, and then bought the rest of the tickets direct through AAA. Not sure what kind of discount that gets you though.

We're new to AAA - am I understanding that you are going to AAA to buy a purse/satchel bag? I didn't realize they sold this sort of thing. Is it discounted from what you'd get on, say, eBags? I'm confused LOL
