Buying those 24 points....

I have no points left in the use year but COULD borrow from the next year....

Can I purchase the 24 points instead of borrowing? I only need enough for 1 night before a DCL cruise.

Trying to save my points for a big trip in a later year.....

It doesn't matter that you have points to borrow. If you want to buy the points from MS, and you haven't done so in the use year, you can.

In November we stayed at THV for 1 night before our DCL cruise. It was a perfect way to start the vacation! Enjoy it!

I just bought some today. We only had 7 points left to use and needed 17 more. So we just bought the additional 10. MS will put you on hold for a minute and patch in another person who will take payment. It was easy and painless!

As long as you are in the 7 month booking window and have not purchased 1 time points in this UY, you are good to go.

Ah...now theres the rub.... I knew it couldnt be that easy. I wanted to book my home resort at BLT at the 11 month mark at the start of a school vacation. If I wait until the 7 month window....chances are (Very good chance too) that I wont get BLT.

So I guess if this is the way I want to go I have to accept whatever DVC studio is available at 7 months....

Well, you do have the points to borrow, if you really want BLT. I don't hesitate to borrow.

You could also have some other member transfer their current UY BLT points. And if their current UY ends before your trip (assuming it's 11 months+ out) you can bank those points to use for your trip. (eg they are Sept 10 UY points, but you are traveling in Dec. 11)

Same here...Weonly have a 160 contract and NEED MORE!:Tryng to talk husband into it.. we just bought 15 additional points through DVC and it really is easy.. i just hate the fact I know I could probally get them transfered or rent them at less than $15 a point..which is what DVC sells them form.. but I called DVC last week and they happen to have to value studios at AKV available at 5 mos out and I guess that is kind of unheard of so I bought right there on the spot.

I would borrow.....before you buy those 1 time points....check out the cash rate on room...might be cheaper.
