Buying refillable mugs on ebay

Thank you, Beth!! I love the Dis, but I've gotta have some fun sometimes! I can only be "good" for short periods. ;) :teeth:

Sorry, you are wrong. There is no rule, (unless it has changed in the last year) stating the mugs are not reusable in future stays, as long as you are at the same hotel. I've been told many times, at many different hotels.

didn't read this whole thing but there is a sign that says the mugs are good for "free unlimited refills from our beverage islands during the stay in which the mugs were purchased" ( pop Centmug.) ...noticed it since I had seen this debated before ....just like the length of stay pass is good for that stay only.....any one want to try using one of those used passes on your next trip and see if anyone cares?

this thread is too funny. I am cheap as the next guy but if I can't pay the $11 for a new mug I'll wait to go and save up till I can;) !

You also need it carry around the blanket you'll need later to mark your spot for the parade.

forget the blanket...buy a 20'x20' tarp at walmart so your family of 3( who have seen the parade 500 times )will have enough room with out those pesky lowlifes-who- have -saved- for -10- yrs -for their -one- trip- to- disney and their snot nose kids blocking your view..that is the disney spirit after all.

Just a question. Say perhaps you spend 8 nights at Port Orleans and purchase a mug for your stay but for whatever reason the last 2 nights of your 10 night total stay has to be at another resort on property - I presume you would have to purchase another mug right?

Wouldn't you have loved to have poked a tiny little whole in the bread bag? Comon' I know we all would have loved that. Well, at least a whole to have sprung on its own. Then the CM could follow her to wherever she's going.

Over the years I have stayed at lots of the resorts and have a whole collection of the mugs - I use them at home all the time - I love them. I am a DVC member and make my own coffee in the room and always bring a mug along to use as I've grown quite attached to them. As a matter of fact - right now I'm using The Mara one.

lol...you'd all either love me or hate me. I like to watch Illuminations from the back of the outdoor Mexican counterservice restaurant. I have done that probably 15 times over the years, always with family friends etc. Whenever I go I always start early, in a friendly way, introducing myself and chatting with others who come near my "sphere of influence" about making sure all the little ones can see and that once the show starts we all stay seated so everyone has a good view ( you can't believe how many adults think it is fine for them to walk up next to the wrought iron fence when the show starts and block the view for everyone behind them....although no one usually does that after I explain "the rules"...in a nice way of course.) I've had several people thank me as they leave because we all have a good view and enjoyable time.

I always try to find out if people are "first-timers" and on some occasions have traded places with them so they had better seats...I love Disney!

somebody start at tarp-swap thread please!

Canned Corn. :) What fond memories.

A few years back someone on the Community Board started a thread asking "What Is the Strangest Thing That You Have Ever Seen at WDW?"

The thread was quite lengthy and included a lot of funny and strange things that people has seen at WDW. But perhaps the funniest and strangest thing that was posted was that someone saw a family, sitting on the steps of Town Hall in the MK, eating corn, right out of the can. Well, after that post, it just took on a life of its own and many people STILL will associate the DIS with canned corn. Or visa versa. ;)

Hope that this helps. :teeth:

FatCow! GO TO YOUR ROOM!!! ::yes::

Beth, Thanks for clueing me in on the canned corn. That is hilarious.

PS to everyone:This thread is my baby and I have a plan to ressurect this thread if it becomes idle for a while. I did it once and I can do it again. Hey if the subject matter isn't limited to mugs but can include smokers, tarps, canned corn, parade spot hogs, parade spot dictators, bread bags, improper use of strollers, cooking in the room, residential vs. industrial dishwashers, kids who cry too much with parents you would love to smack, the magical powers of bleach, repairing Space Mountain with some rusty parts from ebay, and obscene acts carried out with a mug then really I think this thread can go on forever.

we will need a whole NEW server just for this thread! And to think, I was able to do searches for a while...LOL

I don't get your analogy.....the part for Splash Mountain affects the safety of the ride....the mug doesn't :)

Yeah but drinking from a used , old mug affects the safety of you. Your health. I would never drink from a mug I bought off Ebay, esp. one I knew was used.

I'm on a strict budget too, but really, buy the mug at the park.

I don't even think you can use the ones from years past. But even if you could, no offense, but using an old , used mug...that's just gross....

Okay, let me take part in revamping this thread.

1. I don't use used mugs, but that's just me and I'm not preaching either way.

2. Seeing used-mugs as gross is purely psychological. There is this new fangled technology called "soap" that can be used in conjunction with this new-age activity called "washing the mug".

I've heard tell that some of the restaurants use that "soap" stuff too, on their glasses, in between "guests".

What happened to just spitting on a rag and wiping it clean? Sounds like a waste of good money to me!
