I don't have the money to swing a category 6, 7-day in April 2006 with just this year's tax check. Could I just buy a category 12 at about half the price. then upgrade for the other half when I get my tax check next year?

Sure you can....but, when you upgrade next year (if available) you will be paying at the current rates at that time....which may be significantly higher than what they are now.

All you need to do now is to put down a deposit...you can use you check next year for the balance.....but right now all you need to hold your Cat 6 is a deposit per person.

Suzanne, I'd book the 6 or 7 if that is what you really want. You only need to put down a deposit of 250.00 per person for a 7 nighter. At 60 days out you refund (if you cancell) gets smaller but if you need an extra week or two for the tax return they won't cancell you!!
