Hi everyone: Well, today's our 31st. anniversary, and I think we're ready to take the plunge and buy DVC. Here is our plan, vacation twice a year at WDW starting in 2004(we retire) Nov or Jan. at BWV for 2 5-night weeks(Sun.-Thurs.) and 2 5-night(Sun.-Thurs.) at the BCV.

Should we buy points all at one resort(BCV our favourite) or split them between the 2 resorts? We will be buying resales. Thanks for your answers in advance. Canadian Tom

Personally, I like the two contract approach, with equal points at BWV and BCV. If possible, getting the same use year would make it even easier to track...though we have two contracts with two use years and it's no big deal.

The two contracts make it possible to sell one down the road if your vacation needs change. You can't split up a contract when selling it, so that would give you more flexibility. If you have children, it also allows you to split up your contracts between two of them anyway. And selling a smaller contract is easier than selling a large one.

Also, since these are both Epcot area resorts, this would give you two shots at the 11 month window if you travel at peak times such as the Food & Wine Festival.

Good luck! :)

I like the two contract approach, we have that with BCV and Vero beach. But they are very different resorts. BWV and BCV are probably the closest two resorts in terms of advantages, thememing and proximity, it may not be worth it to split between to different contracts for resorts so similar. It does create some headaches. Of course, each resort has it's advantages and if you every want a GV or standard views (for lower points) you'll need the 11 month window to get them. Perhaps others with the same BWV/BCV split can comment.

Good luck.

I like the two contract approach as well. If you really like the Epcot resort are, I think your plan is a good one. You must be a similar age to me, and the added 12 years at SSR mean nothing to us!;)

depends upon when in November - if around Thanksgiving or at the end of the Month - yes definitely 2 contracts.

I have 3 (had 4) - OKW, BWV and VWL - I love WDW at the first two weeks of December - this way I know I can get what I want when I want it - my BWV and VWL are small contracts just enough for a studio for 5 days - (hope this is still true shortly) but it serves my needs. I also had a VB contract - VB is lovely this is a beautiful resort - but after my entire family stayed there and it was no one favorite - like the PCB area better - I got a timeshare there and I sold the VB. Besides my brother needed the money at the time and I split it with him.

While it'd be nice to own the right amount of points for both, the costs will likely be higher than getting one contract. For this situation I'd go with BWV due to the more availability and lower price of resales plus he standard view and now BW options.
