Do the prices change often? How long does it take to get your tickets in the mail? Anyone ever buy tickets from GET and do the package upgrade? It seems like you get quite a bit for the price. Are they any good in person?

Thank you!!

Getawaytoday.com???

The hotel prices can change as often as hotel rates can.

The actual tickets: they send you a voucher to exchange for park tickets at the ticket booth.

What package upgrade?

I've bought 3 day hoppers from both GAT (getawaytoday.com) and ARES http://arestravel.com/77_DisneylandResort.html (I prefer Ares) ~ for both I print out a voucher, present it and my photo ID at the ?ticket booth? and I'm given my hoppers. If you purchase a eticket from disneyland.com you take your printout directly to the ?turn style place? it's scanned there and your hopper pops out ~ this would save time, it could save a lot of time.

Yes, Getawaytoday.com
They have these package upgrades where you can buy princess or mickey themed "boxes" with lots of stuff in them for around $30 and up. Thank you for the information about the voucher. The tickets on that site are $10 less than disneyland.com saving us $50.

I haven't booked through them, but plenty here have and have been happy with them. I hadn't heard of the boxes/upgrades before.

Be sure to check Costco and AAA if you're a member (they send the actual tickets), and also be sure to check booking your hotel and buying tickets separately, just to make sure you're getting the best deal and exactly what you want!

I would (& did) put together my own bags for my girls. I got stuff at the dollar sections of Target, Michael's, etc. I don't think what you get in those bags are worth $30.

Thank you everyone!!!:goodvibes

I had no idea that Costco sold tickets! I thought they only did packages. I will have to check that out.

I have done getawaytoday before and they are very good to work with.

You do NOT get vouchers for them for your tickets - if you get a package through them they send you a voucher for your hotel. The DLR tickets are e-tickets - like for an airline - you go to the ticket booth with your ID (whomever's name is on the package) and they look you up in their system and issue you the tickets. It can take a little while, especially if you have more than 2 tickets (we usually have 5 or 6). It takes about 24 hours for your tickets/name to get into their system, so be aware of that.

So if I want to save money and use getaway rather than buy them from Disney I should order them with enough time for them to get into their system? I will need 5 of them so I will need more than just a couple. Why does it take longer to get more done at the ticket booth? I was planning to buy them 8 days before leaving that would be enough time wouldn't it? I have another question we are buying 6 day passes for dh, me and our three girls. My question is my dh and I are thinking of buying the 6 day passes and maybe upgrading just our two tickets into annual passes before we leave. We will have a credit with our airline we are flying down on that will need to be used so we are thinking of just the two of us flying down for a weekend this spring. Can you do this with your ticket when you originally purchase them from getaway instead of straight from disney?
TIA:thumbsup2

Yes, you can :)

It just takes longer to print out 5 tickets than 1 or 2 since they print each person's name on them individually and they have to look you up in the system, etc. I think 8 days would be enough time to have them in the system. I just keep the GAT number on me when I go to the ticket booth and then if there is a problem - I'm set.

I love the idea of Annual Passes for you and DH - but I am a huge fan of a trip with my sweetie and have been 2 times in the last couple of years with just DH and I. It is a totally different experience than going with kids.

Use your MM before you upgrade your tickets to APs and then at the Bank (I think) they apply the price you paid for the tickets to the cost of your AP and you just pay the difference. Aren't 6 day passes around $200? You would just pay the extra $89 ish to upgrade for each person. That would totally make a weekend trip worth it to me, especially if you have an airline credit to use. Flight would be "free" and tickets would be "free" so the only costs would be hotel and food. Totally a great way to spend a weekend. Just watch out for Saturday blackout dates with the Deluxe Pass.

We just booked with GAT but haven't been yet. One thing to be aware of is that you book a "standard" hotel room. We wanted queen beds and requested a different room, but there is no guarentee and it will cost extra if we do get it. I didn't like that.
