Buying park tickets.

Staying outside Disney and the hotel only sells 3day hoppers and we need 4day hoppers. I read on another site that the tickets are more expensive if you buy them in the park versus buying them on the Disney web site and get a printout (eticket) and exchange it at the gate. I'm surprised that tickets would be more expensive at the parks. We go to WDW and always get a package so this is all new to us.

You have many options on buying your tickets for DLR - and often the prices are less if you buy them from anyone other than Disney. The issue with buying them at the park vs. buying them in advance online through Disney is I think you don't get the magic morning - but I am not entirely sure.

We bought our 5 day park hoppers from a travel agent here in Canada - as we could buy them in Canadian funds and we ended up saving about $45 per person Canadian. The only downside to buying them elsewhere is sometimes you get a voucher rather than an eTicket (which contains a bar code that can be scanned at the gate), which means you have to exchange them at the ticket booth. We arrived the day before so we had no issues exchanging them the night before. The other advantage to buying them as we did was they were 100% refundable if for any reason our trip had to be cancelled.

Ticket prices are the same at the gate and on Disneyland.com. The only difference I know is that the 3 day+ tickets don't have MM if you buy them at the gate. Now if you go through a discount site you may find tickets that are cheaper than at the gate. We always buy our tickets through Disneyland.com

I buy my tickets from wildatwork , can exchange them at the gate... can buy 1 park a day or hoppers.. from 1 to 5 days.. 3 day or more get the MM ..

Doesn't that site direct you to the Disneyland.com site? I bought tickets through my teacher's union once and it directed me to a Disneyland site where I was given a discounted price. I consider that still purchasing through Disney as opposed to a third party seller like GAT.

I always buy my tickets through Ares Travel. They have always been about $15 cheaper per ticket than directly through Disney for us and with a 3 or more day ticket you get a magic morning.

Twice now, I've gone through www.way.com (click "activities" and put in Disneyland). 4 day park hoppers with 1 Magic Morning are currently $295, which is $25 off the Disney website. It's very easy, they will send you your e-tickets 10 days before your trip to print out. You take your printout directly to the turnstiles, you don't have to go to the ticket booth. They give you your regular park ticket there.

I was suspicious at first of places like GetAwayToday, Ares, and way.com, but it turns out that they are all perfectly legit distributors that Disney allows to sell their park tickets. I did GAT several years ago, way.com last year, and I just bought through way.com for our Sept. trip.

I just bought our tickets through Getawaytoday.com in February. I was a little nervous about 6 4 day hoppers coming to me int he mail, so I did will call. We will pick them up at the ticket booths. I saved about $200 or so off current prices. But it looks like the DL website is cheaper then getaway right now. Getaway is saying the same as DL.

Sorry, did the quote wrong. This is a seperate comment from above:

I have used way.com 4 times. They now actually send you real tickets via certified mail. Still worked great.

never been directed to a Disney site from wildatwork and I have bought my tickets from them for 6 years.. currently 5 day adult pass is $314. current Disney gate price is $335. both for hoppers..
we bought our tickets just before the price increase and I saved $200. using them...

Bought my tickets from getawaytoday.com and they sent me actual tickets rather than etickets this time around but in 2013 they emailed me etickets to print from home
