Buying park tickets at the Disney Store

Hi- My Disney Store in Farmington Ct. says they have tickets. When I called they said they sell 3-7 day tickets, and I think they said Park Hoppers are an option. She also said that they can be added on to, if we wanted another hopper day. I'm trying to confirm this, but can't find anything about it online anywhere. The Disney Store online says they don't sell tickets anymore.

I want to clarify this because I called WDW today, and asked some questions. When I said I was going to get the tickets at AAA, the person I spoke to said that she has heard conflicting reports that some tickets bought at AAA can't be added on to. So this made me paranoid!

I called WDW tonight, and the person I talked to was unsure if you could add on to the tickets I would buy at the DS and told me to call the ticket office in the morning. I would like to have the tickets in hand (and avoid going to Will Call), when I leave for my trip on Sunday. I'm arriving Sunday around 6, alone with my 4 kids. Have to pick up the rental car, do some grocery shopping and want to be in a park for RD Monday morning. One person at WDW said I could pick them up in DTD at the guest services there- but that would be a nightmare- going there with my 4 kids and trying to just pick up the tickets and get out of there. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

The tickets you buy at the Disney Store will be vouchers that you will have to exchange at DTD or at a ticket window; so it won't really save you a lot of time over buying them at WDW.

The tickets you purchase at Disney store are not vouchers (unless you purchase an AP). I work there and have purchased tickets there before and the tickets went right through the turnstiles. They are fully upgradable, just like when you purchase them at the gates. They are priced exactly the same as well.

Thank you Disney JMD! That is what they said at the store, that if I want I could go from the airport right to the turnstiles at the park. Just wanted to check with my DIS expert friends and confirm :) thanks again!

Any ticket sold at any location including mail from Disney, other than Annual Passes (any level) or Florida Resident, are "live" tickets which will work in a turnstile without further action.

If you buy a ticket online with e-mail voucher or any sort of AP or Florida Resident you only receive a voucher or exchange certificate, which must be converted to a live ticket at any WDW Park ticket window or Guest Relations window.

The tickets sold at the Disney Stores are fully Magic Your Way tickets, and can be upgraded, added-on, etc. just like a MYW ticket (since they are).

You do pay the exact same price you would as at WDW, including the 6.5% tax.

Hi ny timez..I don't understand your comment? Are you asking why I wouldn't get them at a discount rate somewhere else? I think my only option for a discount is AAA and I might still get them there. I'm leaving early this Sunday afternoon and really wanted to have them in hand as I'm traveling alone with my 4 children. We planned this trip last minute. It's a surprise :) There's no time to have them shipped to me.... I don't want to stand in line at the ticket counter or at will call one of the busiest weeks of the year...just want to get to RD and get right in on Monday morning.

We were at our local DS the other day and they had passes that looked like plastic gift cards for MYW, AP and PAP. All three types looked the same, but had different designs and the APs and PAPs said "Annual Pass" and "Premium Annual Pass" Seems like they would all be vouchers or they would all be passes :confused3

If you read the fine print on the APs and PAPs you would have seen something indicating they either were "exchange certificates" or that they needed activations. MYW tickets sold at TDS, as all MYW tickets, do not expire until 14 days after date of first use (unless NE Option purchased). APs and PAPs expire one year from date of activation, which can only be done at a WDW ticket or Guest Relations window.

AAA tickets are fully upgradeable and you can get up to 10 days. You also get a discount on the tickets if you are a AAA member. You can actually pick them up at your AAA store or have them mailed to you for a fee. (I usually pick mine up cause then I can pick which characters we get) These tickets are the actual ticket that goes right thru the turnstile.

I don't understand when you say about adding a day of Park Hopper. PH is a flat fee of $54 + tax no matter how many days the ticket is for. If you buy a 1 day it is $54 + tax and if you buy a 10 day it is still only $54 + tax for the whole ticket. You do not have to buy the PH unless or until you need it. You can then take it to Guest Relations & get it added at that time. If you find you don't need it, then you will have saved yourself some money. A few years ago I got PH on our tickets and we probably could have gotten away without them. We ended up hopping just to make use of the option, but it really wasn't worth it to pay that much for hopping just once and hopping just to use the option. Lesson learned.
