Well, I bought WDW MYW tickets at the Disney Store today. Tell me if this is true. The nice lady behind the counter told me I could no purchase the no expiration option at the Disney Store. I had to go down to the WDW Resort and add it on down there? Why in the world would Disney sell tickets at the Disney Store and then make you go to Guest Services to buy somthing else for you tickets. It's almost like going to two different ticket counters to purchase one set of tickets. Wierd!
Is this accurrate?

Orginally I was told that this would be the case (when I called TDS on 1/2-the days the tix became available) as well as the case with the hopper option. After reading on the boards when it came time to buy my tix that people were able to get the hopper option at their DS I went in and asked. I was told that yes I could get the hopper option there. When I bought my tickets there they had a book. It was a 3 ring binder that listed all the codes and had matching bar codes for all the options, like making it a hopper, no expiration, etc. I did see the no expire option in the book right next to the page that had the hopper option. They would type in all of the options you wanted (or scan the barcode in the book) and then scan the ticket through the register to activate it. Maybe they are doing it differently at different stores? In any case, on check in you can add whatever you wish to add onto your tickets according to the desk at POFQ (where we were staying on arrival) and they told me that yes, if I did not get what I wanted on my tickets prior to arrival, then I could add on to my tickets at check in. In any case, I can understand your confusion. Has anyone been able to get this no expiration option at their DS?

Yeah its true you have to add it when you get there. I work at AAA and its the same thing for the tickets we sell. I think the Disney Store wouldn't be able to add things to a ticket b/c they can't scan a pass and tell what's on it. Only guest relations can do that. I think its more simple for sellers to do it that way. -Steph

Then why are they able to add on the hopper option?

It has nothing to do with whether TDS can or can't add to a ticket or scan a ticket to tell what's on it - b/c obviously they can add things to a ticket such as Park Hopper Option, Magic Plus Pack Option or Premium Option.

TDS has simply chosen to sell 40 different combinations and permutations of the MYW tickets. One of the options they have not apparently chosen to sell is the no expiration feature. The MYW pamphlet available at TDS explains this:
the No Expiration Option is purchased at most Walt Disney World Resort ticket sales locations.

Ok, I work at a Disney Store, and let me tell you, "TDS" didn't choose what tickets to sell, we were just informed. For those of you that don't know, we are no longer owned by Disney, but instead by Hoops Retail, so it is surprising to me that we even have tickets for a place that we are not even owned by anymore.

We do not have the ability in our computer system to add the no expiration date option. When a guest wants to buy a ticket, we have certain barcodes that we have to scan to ring in the options, and the no expiration just simply is not included. For the pp who "saw" the no expiration option- our store doesn't even have a code for that, so I don't know if other stores received them before they realized that we didn't have that ability, or what.

Anyway, bottom line is, we can't do the no expiration for guests at TDS, but it isn't our fault! :guilty:
